Not a whole lot to report on at this moment. Buying the FD and getting it on the road took a lot of my attention these last two months.  Also, I am traveling in Brazil right now so I'm just a ways from home.

I have scratched my head a bit on the motor mounts, I do think I will be taking everyone's advice and jut building into the frame rails now.  I bought a set of black leather FD seats that I have been messing around with installing, they look pretty awesome in the car, but I can't really claim to have made any progress since my last update.  :(

Does your trans tunnel have the "cat hump" on the driver side or was that just later models?

No cat hump in early '74 which is what I have... the later '74 do have it though.  It would be nice to have for exhaust routing but not having it does make fitting seats much easier.  I do notice that pretty much any seat I put in there feels very high compared to the stock seats.

Probably because the seats you've tried were designed with fripperies like "padding" and "comfort", unlike the originals which were designed to "fit".

I used Honda CRX seats in my 240Z and absolutely loved them, wish I could find another good set.
Miata seats look like a reasonable fit too, I don't have any FD seats to look at.

this was a quick picture I took.  I think they actually match the "style" of the car pretty well:

You bought another FD?  :) Where is the build thread for that one?
