I don't think any Porsche beyond the Panamera has much in the way of rear seats.   The 928 kinda looks like an FC to me, haha.  :P

I know everyone likes fastback cars.   That might be why I like coupes.   The nice thing about it is that a coupe costs like 20-30% less than a fastback.

Optimally I want to find a 67-68 coupe, inline 6, as stock as possible with minimal rot.   I really, really don't want a pristine Shelby or some rare GT or anything since I'm going to violate the crap out of it and being special just makes it more expensive and means absolutely nothing to me.

I totally agree. I was more meaning to do the car up with a nice knock-off Shelby GT350 look parts.
That R code front clip really makes for a nice look on those cars is all I am saying. No way would I suggest trying to buy some actual Shelby and gut it lol. That would make no sense at all.

I am sure whatever you build will be cool.
I will be following this thread.

It'll probably be a new thread in the long run.   I need to buy a new house before I build this car, and considering I'm about 300k short on the house right now, it'll be a year or two before I roll on this project.  :)    Just collecting ideas right now.

I do like the Shelby lower valance though.    Definitely better vs. stock.   Plus it keeps the vintage "vibe" of the car.   I don't like some of the cars where they go crazy with fully modern body changes that clash with the stock look.    Understated almost always looks better than excessive to me.

Also, I have considered a 2JZ swap.    Also briefly considered converting it to AWD and doing an RB26DETT (not at all based on FF:3, though the similarities are funny).    I think AWD sounds like too much work and too many future issues.   The 2JZ seems interesting though, I could put an R160 behind it.   I need to drive a 600 RWHP Supra sometime and see if they can be done in a way that won't bug me, lag wise.

You mean a V160 I think. I want one or my car too. My idea for you is Volvo P1800.

Yes, V160.   I crossed up R154 and V160 there.

That may be the Volvo Penta motor my buddy has in his Marcos GT.
of course the Marcos is like 1600+lbs.
I think it's a 3 liter.

I can't imagine the Insanity of an LSX Marcos GT.

I'm confused. The V160 is the holy grail Getrag MT6 from the mk4 Supra. P1800 are a model of Volvo car.

In 1964 the Marcos 1800 GT was introduced. Originally it used the 4-cylinder Volvo 1800 cc unit

North American models had a 3.0L I-6 Volvo motor.

Sorry for the confusion.. Carry on

I will prolly get flamed for this but how about a vh45?  Use a z32 trans and it comes from the factory with "276hp"  ::).  Plus its always fun to see the looks on peoples faces when you pop the hood and it looks like a fwd.    :secret:  I dont know what the aftermarket for these motors is,  but I have seen a build thread (possibly on here?) with one of these motors going into a rx7 with a turbo or two. :)

I'm not going to flame you, but that seems like a hard way to go about things.  :)   I'm an engineer, I simplify.
