Harness Wrapping?
« on: May 06, 2014, 09:11:49 PM »
Ok guys im at a cross roads here. I bought a bunch of techflex F6 split braid for my engine harness while this stuff is very nice for straight runs of cable it opens up on any bend. What have you guys used to wrap your harnesses. I even tried wrapping a section of it in self fusing tape but i do not like how it looks.

I use that and just put a ring of tape every 6-10".

I never had a problem, just like Blake though my wiring was tight inside the loom. If you have a really tight bend that's causing it you could just put a small zip tie near the bend.

Twist it at the turns so the loom opening is on the outside of the curve.

^^
Dis is what I do on the limited things I wire. Are you sure you are using big enough loom? If the looms not big enough it will do what your saying.

Or are you asking for a different brand of loom? I bought a whole pile off ebay a few years ago of who knows what brand. Like I have a big 4ft square box of it packed tight of all different sizes and colors. It seems to work fine on bends unless I try to pack too many wires into it.
