The parts collection game is a tough one.  Knowing exactly what you need but having to be patient.  Build a spreadsheet and keep researching selections and methods.  It's amazing how many times I have revisited an area that I thought I had sorted, after new information.

Yah, it's quite the puzzle making sure everything will place nice with each other. Luckily we have some great builds to use as reference. I started my spreadsheet all the way back when I bought my bare block. It'd be funny to go back and see how many revisions it went through!

did you end up finding true oem carpet or use an aftermarket? if so how did it fit? :gruffy:

I ended up finding some used OEM black carpet for a good price. After reading all kinds of feedback, it seemed like the aftermarket quality is hit or miss and the final product relied on a good install.

Wow, been awhile. After a long, record-setting cold winter - I've finally made some progress!

Unwrapped the engine for the first time...

Got the improved racing oil pan baffle installed.

McLeod RXT Twin Disc installed.

ATI 10% UD Crank Pulley and waterpump installed

Friend came by to help mate the engine/trans

And into the car...

Trying not to get too excited just yet...

All settled!

I still need to tighten everything down and finish the trans mount but it feels good to finally see it sitting in there!

Been making small progress lately...got the accessories installed on the engine, while I decided to refurbish some other stuff.

After taking apart my dash so I can get some upholstery work done, I couldn't resist cleaning up the dash bar.

Before - As expected, entire thing was rusted...

All cleaned up and painted

Got my Turn-One power steering pump. I was hesitant to go for the billet pulley, but I'm glad I did. Made install a breeze too!

Also picked up a Katech tensioner pulley to keep with the anodized black. Got those pieces, along with the alternator and A/C bracket installed. Finally looks like an engine! haha

After making some progress, it only made sense to disassemble some other stuff. lol. Front fascia and crash bar off in order for the next steps

Time for some wiring fun!

Went out and bought a label maker to try to keep things more organized. Everything all labeled and out of the car.

And de-loomed (mostly).

Front harness is coming along. Big thank you to those who have helped in other forum topics and PM's!

Almost done removing the useless wires from the rotary setup. Crazy how much stuff gets removed. Next step will be sorting out the relays/fuses and putting them in a central location.

I was able to work on the car a little bit today thanks to America's birthday.  :)

Wiring has been coming along, started moving things over the astro van fuse box, Halfspec style. Everything is disconnected from X-01/X-02 now, just a lot of untangling, crimping, and testing to go.

I'm going to tackle my fuel system next so I went ahead and dropped the fuel tank. Not much to see...

Got a flashlight in the tank and checked for rust, everything looked good!

Leaning towards the Walbro 455 fuel pump, so hopefully there will be some more updates regarding the fuel system soon.

For sure man! I still have my whole front harness out of the car so it might be helpful for tracking down your wiring issues.

Cody! It's been 90 days since an update... and it's 70 degrees in November.

I know the weather isn't keeping you from working on it!   :bacon:
