Updates!

I feel like I should make a "new member introduction". As its been near about 2 years since I've posted. Some things have happened. Traveled to Brazil. Started dating long distance, got engaged to a Foreign Nat. Moved into a new house, (2 car garage! barely...its a squeeze). Picked up another car, Manual IS300. She's fun. I have some things getting ready for this car. Namely some Fortune Auto Coils, bushing updates, caster arms.

Got married to prior mentioned foreign national. Now the process to get her immigrated proper to the US. We did a civil ceremony to get the paperwork started, we are going to have our ceremony 1 year out from now. 09/2018

The swapped 7 moved with me to the new house. I trailered it to friends shop to finally get the exhaust work done. It sounds great. A bit louder than I had intended, and louder than either of us expected given 2.5 inch pipes to a 3.5 inch center section running back to 2 'magnaflow' copy mufflers and small 'stock-ish' turn-downs. He took care of some electrical gremlins, found the battery wasn't charging because alternator was dead. There are a few small things to fix. I need to put my 'turn signal switch' in a reach-able place. The Tach doesn't read right, needs a 10k Pull up resistor. The Gas gauge reads in reverse sweep (whoops). I'll get some interior pictures going. I want to swap out my tired steering wheel. I want to use a sprint car aluminum wheel with a quick release, looks like I might need to do a weld on spline.

Drove it some, breaks traction stupid easy. Has some rear 'juddering' which I think is likely the axles/CVs. I think the ronin 8.8 is in the future. First  needs to get aligned. Need to swap passenger motor for crank windown, and attach door card with handle, make it a bit less clapped out. Oh and the battery box. Thats a thing I need to finish.

Extras

Cars separated by 50 years.  Too bad his isn't a fastback, would have been perfect!

Oh, as an update to the sort of lugging weirdness to the car.

Turns out she was on 6 cly injector problems. Entire replacement set had for 40 bucks, had a maf issue. converted over to a 5 pin maf, there was a part of the coil wiring which had gotten pinched or crimped or something and had a few wires needing to get patched and re-wrapped.

Every time one problem was solved the victory was short lived. But man does she rip. I'm not sure how much power its making, but it feels really strong.

The car came with some modifications that actually make it a very lively car to drive.

It has headers and cat back exhaust. Not sure what brand but they are shiny and look good. Has a CAI and as far as I understand the brand of CAI actually includes a chipped tune to the ECU. Combined with the VVT-i and honestly its a fun car to drive. If I want it to with traction control off I can get it to break traction and it cruises happily at like 90mph. I'm sure if I felt like I was a bad-ass on the street and someone wanted to race me there's not enough in it to make it a competition, but it feels a lot more at home in tight twisty roads. It has some of the nicest steering I've had in a car, not heavy but very responsive and agile. Plus, wifes car.

I would guess though she's making a full 250hp maybe more, in a 3000 lb car it scoots.

Said car after some parts.

Threw on some Drift Works caster arms to get rid of sloppy bushing, pushed in super pro bushing on the control arm. Lowered on Fortune Auto 500s with Swift springs, and some Roll center correctors in the front.

Need to see about wheels, and maybe something to pull more rear camber out.

Just get some cheap Konigs or something for it.  Can you get adjustable links for the rear?

Basically did exactly that. Not Konigs but a cast wheel from Varrestoen while they were doing black friday stuffs.

They are 18 x 8.5 I believe. They'll get summer tires when everything warms up a bit.

As for Camber arms/links in the back. Not so much. The IS300 actually has 4 way Dual Wishbone. You *can* get rear upper control arms with camber adjustment but they are like 500 dollars.
