Met Paul years and years ago at PC 201 in La Crescenta where I grew up (and near where he lived), he was super cool and not a prima donna at all. Talked to him again a few years back when we were doing a SEMA car and my gf ran into him... always knew Roger as the money guy at AE, but lots of Porsche Owners Club and Grand Am guys I've talked to this weekend knew him at the track. Both guys knew how to drive, but as has been said the Carrera GT is a wicked car... totally possible it was human error, but the AE guys are talking about a fluid leak/trail up to the accident that might have played a role.
RIP to both guys. I know this has tempered my enthusiasm to go thrash my new setup on the street.
The one thing that's for sure is that since this and my buddy Luke's old C6 race car burning down this year, all of my customers are bumping fire suppression up to the top of their lists.
