93 RX7 LS Turbo 8.8

I picked up a 93 base model as a roller about 7 years ago. I put in an LS1 and t56 out of an 02 Camaro SS using Hinson's mounts, and cooling.

Installed Tien Flex coilovers, 5Zigen wheels-17x9 fronts and 17x10 rear. Aizen 615 tires 255 fronts and 275 rears.

With the stock motor it made about 330whp and 340wtq. It ran something like a 12.2 @118. I decided it needed more power, so I ordered TSP LS6 stage 2.5 heads milled to my specs, ported fast 90, holly 90mm tb, TSP MS4 cam. This was a pretty healthy set up. Compression was around 11.8:1 with a dcr around 8.6:1. Made 458whp, 396wtq. Went 11.5 @128mph with a 2.0 60"

I drove the car like that for about a year. The many trips to 7200rpm finally took it's toll and it spun a rod bearing. I decided to get away form the big cam stuff, but wanted power, so I decided turbo was the way to go.

I picked up an 02 C5 short block, 317 heads, LS6 cam, LS6 intake, and put that in the car and ran it NA for a few months. It ran really well with that low compression small cam set up. Best was 11.6 at 124.

I made a new stand for the Hinson subframe to make room for a 3.5 inch down pipe.

Fuel system consists of 2 walbro 255 pumps. One will run at all times, the other will come on at 4 psi triggered by an eboost2. -8 feed -6 return FAST fuel rails 80lb siemen injectors.

Modified the stock pick to mount the pumps and AN bulk heads.

The car has been running all year with no issues. I have not had it on the dyno or track so no numbers. The TC76/68 is maxed out. It will go to 14psi but starts falling off around 5k rpm and is about 11psi at 6200. The 80lb injectors are also maxed on E85 seeing 110% duty cycle. It spools fast as hell and feels like it is making a ton of torque. It's a blast to drive. The Nitto NT05r drag radials spin pretty good in 1st and 2nd, but hook good in 3rd.

This is how the car sits now. Tien Flex coil overs, carbon fiber hood, and headlight kit. Car has some small dents and scratches but looks good from 10ft. Still original paint.

Love the build. Any cooling problems with the pusher fans?

I maxed out two walbro 255 pumps very fast on e85. You need some 126lb injectors.

No cooling issues at all. If I were going to keep it, I would change to Walbro's new e85 pumps and at least 126lb injectors, and a TC 78/75.
