OK, your car is nice but I want that 510 in the first pictures.  I have missed my 510 since about 10 minutes after I sold it.

Haha thanks Mike, yeah it drives now but not nearly as well as it will... still haven't been able to put any real power down.

OK, your car is nice but I want that 510 in the first pictures.  I have missed my 510 since about 10 minutes after I sold it.

Thanks!  I bought this one for my gf at the time, a '69 2dr with a KA24DE in it, Z brakes/suspension, and those Centerlines.  Decent interior, pretty good exterior, but just needed way too much work for what she wanted... ended up making some money once I sold it and she got a Mini lol.

Sounds mean!  I can't believe how low you guys are able to get it to idle.

When is its first road race track day?

Yeah the GM ECU kept pulling timing out to get it down to <600rpm, super weird, but makes fun lopey cam and blower sounds lol.  First track day was supposed to be last week's GTA Pro-Am, but customer stuff got in the way.  Trying to do Fontana for Sevenstock to get dialed in before Super Lap Battle at Buttonwillow... if I don't feel like the car's up to par for Fontana we'll just head up to Willow for a test day instead.

Was not aware this was happening, awesome.

Thanks!

I've been making some great progress, will have to post up pics when we get a second.

So a couple nights ago my Mom came out to the shop and started washing stuff, she's retired and kind of a boss, does what she wants, and washed my car and body pieces

Then I got the last harness parts in - some coilpack plugs for my LS3 coilpacks, USB ports for our Mil-spec USB charging cables (gotta show off my jams at SEMA!), and a few solid state relays for fans.

Now that everything's clean, I got motivated to make the dreaded hood cutout for the blower.  No way around this without redesigning everything, so no going back - I just wish it wasn't a irreplaceable hood lol.  Cut a little at a time over 3hrs or so, came out as good as could be expected.  Going to have to add a third Aerocatch over on the driver's side behind the headlight though.

Before:

After - driver's side fender isn't bolted in the back, just dzus'd in the front where it meets the bumper

Finishing a S2000 LS1 swap this weekend (keeps OEM cross member and electric power steering!) and then finishing the car this week before roll out Saturday.  Busybusybusy

unfortunate how the cutout spans across the entire surface, but should look pretty cool!

Damn, I hate to say it, but it really kills the look of the car for me. Got all this high tech body work, lots of time invested into all the small details, everything is really well put together... Then that all goes down the drain when you have to perform surgery on the hood so a supercharger tumor can stick out.

I know you said it would take redesigning everything to not have to do it, but this car is so awesome it deserves it!

Maybe I just need to see the car all put together and I will feel different about it.

Either way, it's your car so do what you want to do! Keep up the good work.

Mark, I was hoping it'd work out that way, and I knew it'd be very close if it did fit... that being said, everyone that's seen it in person has said something like, "damn, I wasn't expecting to like it, but that looks badass."  It's what we're running with for the time being.  Dropped the hood off at the body shop for them to fix the chips/etc as best as they can before the weekend, and buff out the rear bumper.

Got my SEMA Feature Vehicle confirmation as well from Vortech, roll in is Sunday 8am, so we're shooting to put down our first quad-digit dyno run before we load it up Saturday night and tape the print-out to the window or something cheesy.

We do have a guy coming tomorrow to leather-wrap the cage though, SUPER pumped about that.  Give it that finished look!  More pics later.

I am of the same opinion. Most builders will look at it and wonder what could be done to fit the parts properly. It would completely distract me from the rest of the build like a third tit on a stripper.

Been rushing to finish things before SEMA, S2000 is getting wrapped tonight and should fire up tonight or tomorrow morning - then it's just getting the driveshaft balanced and alignment/brakes bled and it's done.

Got our APR dual element wing, finally!  This thing is a work of art.  Specs can be found here: http://www.amb-aero.com/files/APR004_public.pdf
Cliffs notes, 71" span (still narrower than the car), 8:1 lift to drag, 1650lbs @ 160mph, 2000lbs+ @ full speed, and can be dialed all the way down to <700lbs and damned near no drag for straight-line stuff, all by adjusting the flap (the bottom deck stays fixed at 4*).

I've got some more pics as we've been measuring for stands, having them jetted tomorrow, the wing is ridiculous.  I love it so much.

Got cleared to post a cross-section pic - no ribs!  All vacuum-bagged, pre-preg carbon reinforcements... I knew the design was on point, but the amazing construction was a nice surprise.

Close to final position
