Alright guys... I am trying to figure out what a certain part of the LS1 harness is.  It can be seen in the harness picture with all the numbers on it, but it is not numbered.

There is a 3 wire connector, that is connected to itself, on the passenger side bank.  In the picture you can see it between #33 and #34.  What is this?

Pretty sure it is between the cam sensor and the ECU.

It's an extension of the CMP.  Dunno why they extended the mofo all the way up there, but it uses a different pinout and different connector than the one behind the intake mani.  If you pull it out (from the male side, at the 33/34 location) all the way to the CMP location, you can remove it, and relocate the wires that connect to the female connector to the rear of the intake mani.  You must repin it to the CKP connector at position 28.  Swap it color for color. This little jumper harness is only on 98-00 F body harnesses.

Make sence?

the colors dont match with the cam sensor.  the one that i am talking about has a red wire, a pink with black stripe wire, and a brown with white stripe wire.  i have been trying to buzz it out but cant figure out where it goes or what it is for at all.

edit:  did not see the post above.  let me go try that.

It is the cam sensor and the colors are the same.  I guess at this point my eyes are just buggin out.

I really don't understand why they have it set up that way unless they felt the need to be able to intercept the cam sensor signal or something but I am getting rid of that extra plug now.

Thanks to both of you guys that was driving me nuts.
