I bought a swapped FD. It has a Wilwood MC. How can I tell if it's the modified or none modified?
What's the difference? What's the advantage of the modified?
Thx

The difference is the modded version threads into the stock clevis that attaches the MC to the clutch pedal. The stock wilwood has threads that don't match the clevis. You can tell by looking at the push rod and seeing if it looks like the threaded section was brazed to the rod.

My modified MC looked lik someone simply took a bolt with the proper thread pitch welded onto the rod. Someone with welding skills could do this.

Thanks guys. How do I insure that the MC is getting dull extension when the clutch peddle is pressed in?
The peddle stops 1/4 inch to the sensor and about 1/4 inch of the MC rod is showing inside the fork that connects to the rod to the peddle. Can I unscrew that to allow for the rod to be extended out more when I press the peddle? The clutch engage/
disengage right now is pretty much at the floor. I want to move it up more.

Yes you can, the only issues is if you are running a 7/8" MC and a twin plate clutch it is possible to over extend the clutch. Not all clutches but a few of the more common ones. I find the 13/16th to be the best balance of pedal and throw.
