1.  Mod the car with a tune and exhaust.  The car will be a little slower on the street and at "street" speeds because of my ability (or inability) to shift a 6 speed.

well, if you hadn't built your 7 with a slushbox you could have had years to practice  :drive:  ;)

that said, mod the 911

I did build my original 7 with a T56...just switched to the auto then got bored with it unless I was actively racing someone which hardly ever happened.

@Tracy, yea no baller here.  I cant swing rebuild after rebuild.  That is why the car will only be built to maybe 6-700hp tops.

Last, I have a very skewed view right now.  I am in Stuttgart (home of Porsche) and literally Porsches over here are like Ford Mustangs in the states.  You see one every 50 feet.  Now, granted they are normally just regular carreras but still.  I have yet to see a GTR over here.

I wouldn't count the GTR out.  Personally I don't like the way they look either but DAMN!!!!!  I wen't for a ride in Mike's GTR today and it literally made my vision change.  Let me say that again.  From 0-140 I could feel my eyesight change slightly.  It was the quickest street car I've ever been in.  Still don't like the way it looks but I can't stop thinking about it.  It is pure weapons grade fast.

BBQ, that is the issue I am dealing with...what I have HEARD though is that once the luster of launching the car a few dozens times wears off and all your buds have gotten rides, you are still stuck with a car that looks meh.

There are a couple things that are telling for me with the GT-R vs the Porsche.....primarily the sales figures.  The number of 911 Turbos sold is VERY similar to the number of GT-Rs sold....but if you look on the USED market there are literally 20 times more GT-Rs for sale on the used market than there are 911 Turbos.  That has to be indicative of something.

I want your life problems haha.

I think Tracy nailed it.  As I recall, your 997 was in good shape too, so as the new models come out your 6spd might actually pick up value.  I'd try and be happy with intake/exhaust/tune (even though all that stuff is crazy expensive for that car).  Rich's GTR statement was very good - "weapons grade fast", but it's not exotic like the 911T is... the fact that your wife agrees should solidify that for you haha.

I ever tell you guys about the time when I was in high school and wanted to be in the military? The recruiter was like "Lose some lbs, then we'll talk."

Looks like that extra poundage just saved me a lot of heartache....Cuz if I can't rock out with my cock out, what's the point?
