You'll regret it.

Swap in something that's got more support, or if you're really wanting something different, swap something that's going to be worth all the ass pain.

And I really can't stress enough that this is not going to be all that cheap/cost-effective/etc.
There are dozens of other choices.

I know there other better motors out there and all but I rather have something unique that stands out

Its rare that you see this photo fit the topic at hand so well.

i don't see why this motor would be any harder than any other motor. Just figure out how to wire it for standalone, build some mounts and a d shaft, and you're good to go. These cars have such huge engine bays pretty much any engine/tranny combo you get your hands on should fit. If you don't like it after it's done, rip it out and drop something else in. It's all about building the thing anyway, right?  :)

You do realize that the stock non turbo rotary is 160 hp vs the 155 hp KA24de, right?  The goal of an engine swap is usually to replace the stock engine with something more, uhhhh, what's that word....powerful?

Im making 400+hp/tq with my KA.  It is nice to be able to find these engines for $150-$200 and build them.  Plenty of aftermarket support for them these days.

Is it worth the effort to swap it in a rx7, i dont know.

Good Luck

Maybe in terms of reliability.  There is a reason they get yanked in favor of a sr/rb

Yes but I would say it's mostly because it's just trendy to do so lol.

They get yanked because kids dont build motors and they want a cheap turbo ...2.4l>2.0l ...have you ever even owned a KA24de?

Mild

major build

..and if you think an RB20det is better then a Ka24de your just smoking crack

And definitely not if you consider the weight and cost of the RB20 relative to it's performance, compared to just doing some stuff to the KA. it's not a great bang for your buck lol. The weight of a six with the power of a four lol. I wouldn't go with less than a 26DETT for a swap motor (and even then you'd have to like have some kind of sentimentality to that motor to choose it over a V8), otherwise I'd just stay away from the RB series. What's the point.

Nope, and STi's have been the only 4 cyl cars I have ever owned
