The Ls2 is stand alone, connected to your Mazda AC request, your AC clutch and pressure sensor.  It will work with your setup.

Welcome to my official LSX FD Air Conditioning Line Group Buy

I know this post is going to be HUGE, so I’ll try and break it down as best I can. I apologize for the read. I suffer from engineeritus and I just want to make sure I’m thorough ;)

What I’m selling:
I am offering a custom built solution to add A/C to FD RX7’s with LSX engine swaps. This includes the plug and play lines to connect the LSX compressor to the condenser, evaporator, and brand new drier as well as all new seals/o-rings. I also offer kits at an additional price to facilitate the electrical install and control of the air conditioning system.

What do you get with this group buy?
1.   Plug and Play custom A/C Lines with all the proper fittings, service ports, compressor block, and all new seals.
2.   Drier with mounting hardware
3.   Instructions and part documentation including drier re-order information as well as o-ring sizes. I want you guys to be able to have full support for years to come even if I drop off the face of the planet (no plans to do that).

How much does this group buy cost?
1.   $400 shipped (upper 48 states) for the line kit. Shipping to Canada is possible but shipping is roughly triple for what it costs me to ship within the USA. Estimated build and ship time = 2 weeks after GB ends and payments are received.

Are extra goodies available? Note These are only available when paired with a A/C Line order.
1.   DEI fire sleeve for line runs going past the manifolds / headers = $33 extra (this is my cost) Now only $30 extra!
2.   LS1 Wiring / Control interior kit = $70. This is a kit that interfaces the RX7’s A/C button with the LS1 PCM. It also provides
the wiring to the A/C compressor and pressure sensor. The advantage of using this kit is that when the PCM receives A/C
requests from the RX7 A/C button it will safely control the compressor. Features enabled with this kit include:
        a.   Completely plug-and-play. No splicing required
        b.   Stock RX7 A/C button activation
        c.   Compressor over-rev at high RPM protection.
        d.   Idle compensation.
        e.   Refrigerant low-pressure protection
        f.   Radiator/Condenser fan control (as long as your fans are PCM controlled)

The only requirement for this kit is that you be running a LS1 PCM. I’ll also need to know where your PCM is mounted.

3.   LS2/LS3/Universal Engine wiring / control interior kit = $115.00. This is pretty much the same idea as the kit above, but this is a standalone system, which theoretically should work for ANY engine. The reason for this kit is because the LS2/LS3 engine requires that the Body Control Module (BCM) be attached to the PCM to relay control to the A/C compressor. Because no LS2 swap I’ve ever seen swaps over the BCM for this purpose, it is impossible to use the LS2/LS3 PCM to control the A/C compressor. Because of this, it is a requirement that the A/C system be controlled with a standalone system. Features enabled with my kit include:
        a.   1 wire install (RPM wire splice), otherwise it's as plug-and-play and the LS1 kit above
        b.   Stock RX7 A/C button activation.
        c.   Compressor over-rev at high RPM protection.
        d.   Refrigerant low-pressure protection.
        e.   Radiator/Condenser fan control (this will require 1 more wire splice and the car must use GM based relay wiring /
control (diagrams available)). Please see important note about this feature here

For wire length purposes I’ll need to know where your PCM is mounted.

4.    PCM enabled Fan Controller = $100. This is a fully wired, fused, and weatherproof module that enables your fans to be controlled by your LSX PCM. Features enabled with my kit include:
a. 1 wire splice install (12v switched).
b. Everything else is plug and play including the PCM wiring, 12v ring terminal, GND ring terminal, and the actual fan plugs.
c. PCM controls when fans are supposed to come on and off based on coolant temp and A/C status*
d. Easy mounting below the passenger side headlight.
c. Can be ordered for dual fans or single fan (two speed) setups.
d. Built to network with the AC controllers listed above
e. Option for having the fans shutoff after car shuts down, or stay on like a turbo timer to cool your radiator below the coolant setpoint after the car is shut off.

*For LS2/LS3 guys doing their own A/C wiring, this fan controller can be made to turn on when your A/C button is pressed, it will just require a little more wiring which I can help with if needed.

Where are all the pictures of this group buy goodness??
The lines will look very similar to what’s shown in my DIY thread shown here:

http://www.norotors.com/index.php?topic=12654.0

The exception being that I’ll be using a different compressor block, drier, and will most likely incorporate a 180 degree hard line bend in the line going from the evaporator outlet to the compressors inlet to make the line’s path cleaner.
I will post pictures of the lines and A/C control kits as I build them, but for right now I don’t have pics.

Also, some of the electronic prototypes can be seen here:
http://www.norotors.com/index.php?topic=16377.msg220355#msg220355

What do you need to go with this kit to have working A/C?
1.   You will need one of the following manifolds/headers:
        a. JTR Longtubes
        b. Spoolin Headers
        c. Hooker 8501HKR cast manifold
        d. Hinson Longtubes
        e. LS3 manifolds (heatshielding may require notching)
         f. 2000-2002 LS1 manifolds (heatshielding may require notching)
        g. 98-99 LS1 manifolds (EGR casting ridge will need to be ground down (see this post))
2.    A condenser. This is most likely going to be aftermarket on a swapped car. Samberg recommends this one with his radiator:
       http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Universal-A-C-Condenser_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116QQitemZ140277905793QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
*Note* I have found that the cleanest way for routing the A/C lines around this particular condenser is to mount the condenser with the large port facing up / highest point and the small
port facing down / lowest point. I'll figure it out if you want to do it the other way around, but I'd recommend mounting it with the large port up and the small port down.

For hinson radiators I’ve heard Pez mention that this one works:
        http://www.univparts.com/detail.asp?PART=4-12242
For any other condensers you’ll need to talk to me first so we can iron out the routing and fitting details.
3.    A fbody LS1 compressor mounted with Fbody or GTO brackets (low on passenger side of engine)
4.    A Nippon Denso or Mana evaporator (identification tips below)
5.   For LS1 guys, you’ll need a GM pressure sensor (GM # 22664328 or AC Delco # 15-5742). For LS2 guys, see the electronic
kit options below and you’ll need this pressure sensor:
       http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/airsource-1514/binary-switch-p-mei-1514
6.   Supporting electronics / wiring. People that have had their wiring done by Pez will most likely have this already built in. If
you had your LS1 harness modded for AC and it’s got 2 external relays that were added to the wiring, chances are you’re all
set.  If you don’t have your wiring done I offer LS1 and LS2 wiring/control kits that will allow the system to be integrated to
       the stock AC button.
7.   A way to oil and charge the system with refrigerant. This can either be DIY with PAG 150 oil, ~24oz or R134a, a vacuum
pump, and a set of AC manifold gauges, or you can take it to an A/C shop to have them do it.

Final questions for joining the group buy:
1.     What style evaporator is on your FD? I.E., Mana or Nippon Denso? Here is a thread showing how to identify which
        evaporator you have:
http://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/help-identify-different-ac-unit-models$10 for nuts shipped to Canada-1035193/
If you still have trouble I'll have test nuts available that I can send you for $5 (). You'll just screw whichever nut fits onto your
evaporator line and you'll have your answer.
2.     What type of condenser do you have? All I've built for so far is the universal condenser that goes with Samberg's radiator,
but I will work with whatever you have. It will be very beneficial for me if you have as much info as possible on your
condenser if you want to use it though. Specifically what the port sizes are.
3.     What type of A/C compressor do you have? I.E., LS1, LS2, etc
4.     What header / manifold are you using?
5.     Do you need any extras? I.E., wiring kit, heat sleeving, etc?
6.     Do you want R12 fill ports or R134a fill ports? 99% of people are going to want R134a fill ports, but I wanted to throw this
out there because I am tinkering with the idea of going R12 to get even colder A/C temps and I didn't want people to feel
like they didn't have a choice
7. What radiator are you using?
8. Where is your PCM located?

Whew! Ok. I think I covered all of the main points. If you’re interested in joining this GB, please post your name in a list and PM me the answers to the questions I listed in the section above labeled “Final questions for joining the group buy”
I am hoping to officially run this GB for 2 weeks then take payments on the 17th, but if interest is high enough and people are ready to get started, I could possibly take the first wave or orders on the 10th. Pricing extensions may occur, but the price on the lines will eventually settle at $440 shipped.

Thank you for your interest and please let me know if you have any questions:

*Updates for ongoing Group Buy*

GB STATUS = CLOSED

It's officially the first day of summer and it sure is hot!

I guess it's fitting that I should start up the order process for getting you guys some cool AC  :yay:

So here's the current list of interested people. Out of this list there are:

1. People who have given me all the info I need and are completely clear to order.
2. People who have most of their information in but have 1 or 2 crucial details missing before I can plan out their lines. These people can order if they want to. If for some extremely distant reason it turns out their setup isn't compatible, I will instantly refund their money.
3.  People who I need a lot more information from. These people shouldn't order just yet.

I'm just in need of the wiring solution for Ls1 right now.
I think i'm only in need of 1 line to be made.

I'll have my car running hopefully in 2 Weeks. Then I can see if I'll just buy the whole setup instead of messing around with what I have..
