I fixed it last week and been driving, it was #4 arcing on the header through the fiberglass heat sheath, I bent the wire away from it and it fixed it, runs smooth. So I may have misspoke that it "eats" wires, However if current was getting through the wire is probably bad. I didn't even pull it off yet because I have to remove my coil covers and strut bar. Runs really nice and smooth again. Such a fun car.
