No recommendations per say.  However, to and from shipping may cost you about as much as the rebuild so I'd tend to suggest you look locally. I've had good success on a variety of referrals by calling my local speed or 4x4 shops and checking who they use.  Bowtie7 found his local Ford dealership serviced a variety of go-fast mustangs and had the resident expert at the dealer to do his.

Effectively, any shop that will ask you what you intend to use the diff for in picking a backlash number is the kind of place you want to be.  Heck try yelp and search locally for differential or transmission shops then give folks a call and vette them out.  If they don't know what a case spreader is then you walk away fast.

FYI: all the hard parts are in our possession.  I'm just waiting on CV boots and then the first full batch of kits will be ready to go out.  I just sent an email to all the pre-orders / testers.  We did make a few extra kits in this first batch so we're going to have them available to others.  Price point will be $1199 plus shipping (estimated at ~$60 but we'll know for certain once we've packed the first few).

Like our FC diff kits, because this now involves welding we're planning to ship these bare w/o powder coat.  If you really want it all done at the same time we can powder but we'd leave about the last two inches of each welded interface bare.  As usual, shoot us a line at roninspeedworks@gmail.com if you have special requests.

We're also going to be offering this with the Ronin-ized Samberg engine mounting as an upgrade option and an alternate means of doing away with the power plant frame.  That gets you our engine interface pedestals, powdercoat for the engine mounting gear, your engine /trans isolators, AND halfshafts / rear end solution, all in one place.

I'd be interested in the complete list of all that's included in the rear kit. Unless I missed it.

I honestly didn't think you'd have it ready so soon. I'll be ordering one for sure just a matter of when. The 4.10 gears have to got to go.

Is it the frame, halfs and boots?

Thanks for the update.

So the needed list is:
Driveshaft (DSS I'd imagine)
Diff and housing
Inner stubs/tri bearing thing (brain fart on the name)
Paint/powdercoat
Welder

Sounds pretty damn good to me!

Hopefully this isn't a limited run kinda thing. I'm going to be ordering this when the funds are available.  :secret:

Only things you missed are rear mount bushings and FD outer CVs.

We're planning on keeping these in stock for quick delivery to folks.

Got mine today, everything looks great.  If I could offer something up right off the bat, you need stronger bags for the bolts.  All of them broke so I had to dig through all the peanuts to find all the washers and bolts

Sorry about that.  I kinda raided the kitchen to get these out the door.    :secret:   We'll get some proper parts zip locks ordered.  Been meaning to do that.

Question, do the ford mounting tabs on the cover need to be cut off? Or is there a cover that does not have those tabs?

I found an 07' Mountaineer differential with 22K mile 3:55 ratio locally for 350 bucks. Seemed like a good deal.

My car currently has a rear Sub-frame that has been modified by Paul3rd gen. It eliminates the torgue arm. The setup looks very similar to what you guys have made for the 8.8. I have a 3:90's now w/KAAZ. I'm looking to sell this setup and install the 8.8 for better gearing options.

I will be placing an order next month.

Yes the ford mounting ears on the cover need to be cut off.

I ordered the cardone complete cv axles. part # 66-2193 and 66-2194. The tripod bearing inside them appears to be smaller and WILL NOT WORK. I'm going to head to the local ford dealer and order some and see what's up.

So far impressed with the kit. The bushings are definitely a TIGHT fit. I used delrin ones that were installed in my car by previous owner. They were peeling slightly when I pressed them in.

So would I need to get a diff first and then tack the bars on!? I have a tig welder so I can do this and this kit is something I had in my head but just never really went to deep into it. So the kit you sell is parts only and I need the diff and stuff!? Sorry if I've missed your reply on this. Too many pages to read but I love the way it looks. Also I can ship and bare subframe if you so wanted to weld it for :) also there's Over 10+ explorers at our local junk yard too..
