Were you running the 99 spec fuel tank baffle originally? If so, what made you change to the hyperion part?

It does add a nice touch, allows you to get things just right.   I bought hyperions baffle back in 2010....and didnt install it (too lazy)... my gas gauge stopped working- after 8 months of that....got sick of it.  Upon dissasembly, I found the factory baffle broke....knocking the float iff the sending unit.  I didnt want to deal with welding it...couldnt find a good used tank.... so I bought a new one from mazda.  They only sell the newest revision (99 spec- which had the factory baffle)..  after comparing the 99 spec vs hyperions....  hyperions got installed.

Thanks for the back story. It appeared from your post as though you were swapping it as the 99 was not sufficient. Makes sense to fit the Hyperion if you already have it though.

Ended up getting it re-dynoed by New England dyno (Hagerty tune)....  Apparently the old dyno wasn't set at SAE... So needless to say , it was actually lower than thought .

Results are...  Initial pull...   537/ 474 (SAE corrected)
                     Final pull ...    558/ 494 (SAE corrected)

Definite solid gains from 4500-6k... Solid 20/20 gain through out.  Peaks about 6800... And carries good till 7k..  Dropping slightly at 7200.  Exactly what I was trying to achieve!

Looking at those numbers, and having driven cars with curves like that, I am so jealous haha.  So rad on a street car.

UPDATE:  for the upcoming winter months - the Mazda will be getting some upgrades :)

-adding Samburg's 4 point roll bar.

-trying to modify Improved Racing's bar to fit over the FAST 102.

-make the clutch work as intended.

-swap out lingenfelter's oiling block for Improved Racing's unit- equipped with thermostat .

-add pass R1 oil cooler in to the loop.

I'll be updating with photos as I proceed- enjoy!
