How have you not seen his car?  That's actually who I sold my rear cradle to since you're building me mine.   ;)  Damnit, I forgot to get a shipping quote.

Can't tell if serious...  remember we talked on the phone about you building me a cradle more in line with high horsepower cars...

Welp, I was ask to post some pics and tell the story behind my build. It's a Seven journey really. I first started with this one back in 2000. It was first second Seven and I wanted to build it using all factory parts. I wanted to see what I could get out of factory turbo and factory components. Only upgrade was the ECU so it could be tuned. This was back in the day when we flew Hitman from Australia to come over to tune. He squeezed ~380 out of factory turbos. I blew it at a local track. It ran 12's. Drove home ~50 miles on blown seals.

[attachimg=3]

Then the build started happening. We tore the car down and decided we are going to build the baddest Seven ever. My buddy was an electrical engineer at Lockheed on the F22 program so he brought all these special wires, connectors, switches, and rewired the whole car. We were going to build a race car for the street. Shaved engine bay, firewall, floor pan, the works.
[attachimg=4]
[attachimg=5]

This was the motor we were going to put in it. The motor, tranny, and the rear were built by the man himself Rick at Mazmart.

[attachimg=7]

Well, we were about 90% done, and life happened. My buddy got a new job on a oil rig back home in Louisiana. Left me with a project I couldn't finish by myself. The chassis was too overly modified to go back to any stock components. It just sat.

Then 10+ years later, I woke up one day and said to myself, it's now or never. I went' and bought a Seven from a local kid, drove it back to my shop and started to tear it down. I stripped it, painted it, and was all set to put that motor back in. Then I said to myself, do I really want to put a timebomb back in to all this work? No. I decided to go with a V8. They are easy to find, easy to tune, and looks prettier in the bay. Incase you kids haven't caught on, I'm more of the "more show and less go", compare to most of your cars. Start to finish, I wrapped this baby up in roughly 3 months. I couldn't have done it without this forum. There is no way. You guys helped me through every roadblock. Here are some pictures in the beginning stage. Most of the pictures can be seen in the build thread.

Beginning of the wide body. I wanted to build a true wide body. Not the widebody that only covers the top of the wheel. I also wanted to retain the original Seven look. If you look at the car from the side, it doesn't even look like a wide body.
[attachimg=8]
[attachimg=9]

This is why I didn't go with an aftermarket kit. All the kits out there, and there is nothing wrong with them, have straight lines. The Seven doesn't have straight lines. So I had to build a widebody that didn't have straight lines. The trickiest part was the gas lid. If you notice on some of the kits, they have a notch for the gas lid. I didn't like that. We made a simple lid that just went with the new contour. It worked out ok. Without further a do, here are some pics. Again, just wanna say thanks to all that helped me complete this build.

This is a really great car.   Interesting to see some of the very nice cars you had prior.    Very nice work, beautiful FD.
