How much does an engine + transmission combo like yours goes for? I am curious.

I used the RX7 trans that came with the car and made an adapter plate.  As for the motor, you can pick them up from a junkyard for $500-$700.  The stock motors will handle 450-550whp without an issue.  Anything over that and you need rods/pistons.  You can get away with just putting cams and valve springs/retainers in the head.  If you do the work yourself you can have a pretty stout bottom end for $2300-$3000.

Ok thanks. I want a light tube chassis 4 banger in the future, and this motor is def a candidate. i used to have a 420A lol with a rigged up turbo kit - just after the first Fast and Furious lol.

Looks fun, ever take it ot the track?  Those are some mighty expensive parts for 520whp, plan on turning it up? :poke: My daily driven talon just trapped 124 the other weekend. Amazing little motors for sure.

124mph is cute.  My daily driven Talon was doing that 12yrs ago.   :poke: :D  I dont plan on going to the track until the end of the year.  Still have to make a rear diff brace and a trans brace for it.  Once I stop being lazy and fix the knock sensor I will turn it up on straight pump gas and leave it at 560-600whp.  I will consider E85 if it becomes readily available around here.  When I do take it to the track it will be exactly how I drive it on the street, regualr street tires, pump gas, etc.

Put the car back on the dyno for a retune.  The car made 571whp/376ft-lbs on straight pump gas (93 octane).  Cant wait for the warm weather to put the power to the ground.

Love the color.

Nice setup, a local with that turbo made 745whp on a DD, I think that's over 800whp DJ.

Not my choice of motor, but they are stout. Also had a local run 600whp thru his stock bottom end for over a year 10k miles, lots of stock bottom ends trapping 140s in full weight ish cars, not tin cans.

Would love to see this in person. location?

Thanks, its a killer turbo that can make around 800whp on E85 and lots of boost.  They make 550-600whp on pump gas pretty easily.  I'm in NJ.
