A lot of progress, engine bay stripped, painted and rewired.  Intercooler and exhaust piping completed.   Rad/intercoooler mounting done. Intake manfold and rear sump oil pan fabricated and welded up.

I'll try to post some pictures.

Here's an older picture with the intake and intercooler piping done.   Can see the radiator/intercooler mounting rack as well.

Thanks for the compliments.   Since most of this board is LS swaps, I wasn't sure anyone was that interested.

I had a 98 GSX with a 2.4 and a FP 3582R. Extremely fun car, great engine - it's just the thing that surrounds it that is less than ideal in many ways. The 4G itself is a fantastic power plant.

This is Modern Automotive Performance's 4G63 FD (they're pretty close to where I live):

Now they have a turbo LSX in it but it ran a best ET somewhere in the high 8's with the 4G setup.

Yep, seen that beast.   Did a lot of research on 4g63 swaps (really wanted to do a early Chevy II) before deciding on a FC.   i've seen some successful FD swaps but not many completed FC's.   This car won't be what typically run at my local track and that's the aim, to be different.

I love the 4g63 motor, but i"ve been blowing up transmissions for year in my Talon AWD.   The goal is to run low 11's and pull a wheel!  8)  Little different challange than AWD.

Been working aon a lot of little things.   Brake lines and line lock, wiring up the new Derale relays fand installing 12 " electric fan on the freshly blacked out radiator, and started a pattern for the aluminum radiator shroud.   Also got the 1/2" 2' square slab of aluminum that will become the engine/trans adapter plate, $140 hurt for something that will be mainly chips on the floor.

Big deal was I got the my Talon stripped.   Sucked to take a car apart that I've spent so much time on over the years....but a friend helped the process by selling the trans out of it for me.   Guy needed it in a couple of days so I got right done to it.  So i can now start putting finished parts on the real engine.

Nice, can't wait to see how this turns out.

I almost bought a 4G FC a couple of years ago, are you going to get a bigger turbo once its up and running?

Yep the engine setup from my Talon (has a small 16g now) will go in with the same tune as a starting point.   As sson as it's running I'll be putting a bigger turbo in, nothing crazy.   Probably a 20g, I like Mitsu turbos.   Easy to work on, as pretty cheep to setup.

Was the 4g FC you were looking at running?

There was a 4g powered rx7 that a guy in cleveland ohio built a couple years ago, I hit him up on another board getting ideas for mine as thats the route I plan to go.  He sent me a couple pics and vids if anyone is interested in seeing them, I can see if I still have the links and post them up.  AFAIK he used the wideblock 4g, changed the pistons and ran the turbo head and I'm hearing he had twins set up on it for a while.
Now back to the topic, I can't wait to see yours finished op.  I'm interested in seeing what you use for a clutch setup seeing as to how your using a trans adapter.
