I had a 3 inch stainless y-pipe made, and just used my cutback from my rotary setup, for now anyways I will probably change it here in the future.

Well I guess I'll update this thread, went to do some casual drag racing with the car. I made it down the track once bogged off the line and the rear end cried the whole time. Rebuilt the rear end new bearings, 3.90 gears and s4 tii carrier. Went back and broke both axles at once, luckily I had a spare set, threw those on and went back and broke the u joint and the diff started whining again!

Drag vid, ignore my goofy friends comments and my grandma shifting, first time on slicks/dragging

I had no intent on this being a "drag car" but I want it to be able to go down the track so after breaking all these parts I decided to upgrade to a 03 cobra 8.8 rear end(still IRS) and also better gear options, so I'm just waiting on parts, will update as they come in. Since the parts I need from out of the cobra axles are pretty much non existent used I decided to go with the Porsche inners, it just shipped out today so once that and sambergs mounting kit and about an hours labor I will be back on the road :)

Your numbers are not too bad. What size cam you running?

According to his thread on the club, it's a Comp Cams 231/238.

well crap...  and here I was hoping that the stock FD diff might hold for a bit. HAHAHA
At least I'm not planning on drag racing with it... for now.

If you break the Torsen it will probably take the gears with it, a lot of people have success with the s4 diff.

The helical diff will definitely go, I toasted two of them before I even put a cam in (I/H/E only).

I've had great success with the Kaaz 2-way clutch-type diff in mine now, we've got non-trivial power and huge grip (315 and 335 R-comps) and haven't broken it.

Update!

Well I have been having too much fun with my car to get on here, lately. Earlier this summer/spring I got my rearend all done. Took it back down to the drag strip and blew my bushings off on my second launch.

Here is the vid when they broke and I got a lot of wheel hop from it.
http://youtu.be/5r-z6kgJkwc

I ordered some adjustable aluminum diff bushings to fix the issue and they seem to hold up fine. I think I may be a little too rough off the line and have been working on my on off switch of a foot.

Bushings installed

Took it out to the drags but I didn't get any vids, I got my best 60ft so far, 1.8  but more importantly nothing broke. I got a warning for no cage so I just didn't run past the 8th mile the rest of the night because I couldn't manage a better launch.
