Quick question, will a lt1 alternator regulator burn up if you connect the one wire coming out of the plug on the top to a constant 12v source? dosent the alternator need a ignition 12v wire with a resistor inline?
thanx

I burned a voltage regulator from an LT1 F Body alternator once by doing that: connected the wire directly to +12 instead of doing it thru the charge light in the cluster. It only worked for about 15 mins.
