Offset is about right but that's a lot of tire width to jam on a 8.5" wheel.  The bigger problem is going to be diameter.  A 275/40r17 is already taller than you really want so a 275/50 is going to be ridiculous.  Add in the extra soft stock suspension and you'll be running a mile high to avoid rubbing at squat.

A 235/40 255/40 split in a summer compound would be a better call if you want to go around corners.

Yeah I think im gonna get some 9 inch wheels for the rear I want as much tire as I can out back.  I was looking at Rota P45r's.  Ive heard alot of ppl saying these are bad wheels I got circuit 8's on my civic for the last 3 yrs but that car makes about 180hp I was wondering maybe it would be an issue with the higher hp and tq with the Ls1 but I dont got the money for the big name wheels.  I really like how these Z wheels look on the 7 but they will have to go. There is nothing wrong with Rotas at all.. many time attack guys use them.

I was looking at doing P45rs as well, 17X9 in front and 17X9.5 in back.

The larger rear 350z wheels may fit.. but I don't know what offset they are so I can't say for sure.
