First numbers marked by the ** are all "12".

were all the parts needed when swapping to this cam?
Thinking of using this cam for my 5.3 turbo build.

Page 3 lists the parts necessary except the 3 bolt 1 Tooth cam gear. I don't know the GM part off hand. I Ordered a 2005 GTO timing set from the local auto parts store for $38. Came with both timing gears and chain.

Made a little progress.

Cleaned and did a speedy port job on the 317 (6.0) heads. Took the hump down in the intake runner, cleaned up the bowls, port matched the lower half of the exhaust port and trimmed down the valve guides.

Leaving the rough cut "port" job to create turbulence in the airflow.

New PAC1218 springs installed. These heads were run by a friend last year. Carb'd E85 setup. You can see the black tar goo all around the intake valves and ports. Hope to get the long block put together this weekend.

Isnt that why you're supposed to run regular gas through it everyone once in awhile? To get rid of those black goo deposits from e85?

I've tried it all. Nothing stops it completely. It's It seems region specific, not everyone has problems. I run e85 in 3 of my cars and they all have issues. I've tried mopar CC cleaner, seafoam, lucas FI cleaner, running reg gas etc...Even the lower blends do it. I run E50 in my daily and the injectors and intake looked like crap. Even the valve reliefs in the pistons had that gunk in it. I'm going to retune it for E30 this winter and try that.

Wowza.   I had my intake off a while back and there is just a slight brown tint to everything, NOTHING like that.   My injectors looked spotless.   I'm E85.

Yea it's all over my motors. Sticks to the piston faces as well. It's like scraping syrup off the pistons. Good stuff... Don't mind that HG...I'm a professional.

Soaked the cylinders in mopar CC cleaner over night and it pretty much wipes out. Defiantly not oil though... it's sticky.

Had some crazy unseasonable warm weather in KS today. (72*) Pressure cleaned and painted the engine bay.

Before.

After.

Hard to say at this point. The few companies that make bolt-in racks are very proud of them. Won't be fabricating one from scratch at this time. I’d like to see how this one handles at speed first. Planned on running quite a bit of neg camber to help keep it straight. If it still feels “off” I may end up with a tube front end and new suspension.

The steering linkage was dropped 2” to clear the oil pan. Screams safety.  :D
