Doh! it's amazing how much better they work when I install the check valve to the master in the correct direction.  :-[

did your booster have a check valve in it? i had to steal one from a honda on my swap.

No I had a pretty large check valve laying around from some older setups. Can see it in the old pic I posted of the Vac block.

I think i'd rather have the 10 hours of my life back, but I wet sanded and polished the windshield.

Never doing that again.... Started with 500 grit. worked up to 1500, then cut/buffed.

Exhaust evac is pulling a ton of water out of the crank case. Guess thats an E85 thing...

Found a hood on craigslist for $20. Cut a bunch of the webbing out and spent most of Saturday sanding and filling it. Moved some things around and was able to get the stock hood to fit.

Decided to play with this plasti dip stuff everyone is talking about. Still drying here. I hope it smooths out overnight as it drys. Looks streaky now.

I like the steath of the flat hood .
It'll still hard to have sleeper look with wheelie bars and big tires . :D

Wheelie bars are no longer installed, not much I can do about the tires. They aren't anything too nutty though. 29x12. Prob go with a 28x10 or 28x12 ish drag radial in the future.

So I hung the hood on the wall from some small chains I had laying around. This was so I could keep the spray can at a 90* angle and try to get the stripes out of it. The chain "S" hook bent and the hood came crashing down on the corner and ruined it. There goes 10 hours of sanding down the shitter...    :yay:

I think i'm to cheap to fork out $650 for a carbon fiber hood. So I'm on the look out for another OEM hood. 6" retardo cowl till then.

Uncle is helping out with the head light dilemma. He designed some headlight and signal “pods” to install on the back side of the bumper. I’ll install some tinted lexan on the back side of the bumper and the “pods” will press up tightly against it from the back. I think its going to work out really well. Each light uses a 55w H3 bulb. I’ll have the bottom as a low beam and the top as hi-beams, hope this will be good enough to pass the out of state inspection.  A standard h4 headlight bulb is 100w, so I’m hoping 2 of these will be bright enough for night driving. I’m sure I’ll end up running all 4 of them at night.

Bar napkin sketch…

Rough cut in bumper. Found bumper full of bondo, had to weld in some additional metal to make sure we had a sturdy frame to mount to.

Semi-complete pod.

The hole we cut is about double what the reflector hole was. You could probably snake one of these low profile fog lights in there and run at at the track though.

I bypassed wiring in my FC to allow me to turn on my head lights with them flipped down. They would still shine bright enough to see at the track. The FC's had the little clear lenses under the head lights though.  May be another option. Could even put a plastic mirror under the light and angle it back out the reflector hole if you wanted to get fancy.

Decided to do away with the 6 ft of tubing coming from teh aft driver side VC to a catch can and then back to the DP evac. I used clear tubing and have only seen water vapor in the tubing so far.  Drilled a hole in the oil cap, installed a grommet, removed the fill neck for clearance. plugged the driver side VC.  Much better.

Got the heat shield for the plug wires all done all painted. Removed the fuel pressure gauge I had mounted in the cowl space and installed a small gauge on the FPR.

Also bought a factory hood latch and one of those fancy carbon fiber hoods.  :yay:

Made another HVAC cold air intake this weekend. You start out with a couple aluminum 90* bends. I found you can pull the segments apart and add to them for one longer seamless piece. This also let me eliminate the “crinkled” end pieces. There’s even a rolled bead on the end or your couplers. These are very strong and light weight when done. I’ve made 4 of these now and they seem to hold up great.  I beef up the area where the hose clamp will go with about 4 layers of glass. The rest is just a single strip and a lot of resin. Sand to your desired finish and paint. Mine is hidden in the fender so I didn’t spend a lot of time trying to make it look pretty.

If you want it to look more professional you could try just enforcing the ends with glass/resin. Then dipping the whole assy in polyurethane. I think that would turn out slick.
