are you able to put an air filter on your turbo?
meaning is there enough clearance?

It's tight but I found a silicone boot that fits kind of.  My turbo has a weird 4.25" inlet so i had to slice the silicone (because it was 4") to get it to fit.  Honestly, I'm not really worried about it.

I did end up taking it to the track this weekend and I must say I'm 100% happy with everything in the turbo, fuel, and engine setup, but unfortunately the freshly built powerglide isn't holding up.  I ran 10.9 @ 129 mph.  Pretty frustrating, but hopefully I can get the transmission setup solid and then get the Ronin 8.8 IRS ordered and go back for some mid to low 10s.

if you need a type of elbow for the intake to work, there are these

just so people know

are you running a 1.76 glide? all you should need is good clutches, the stock 1.76 gearset and carrier will be fine for you

Yeah it's a 1.76 glide.  It was supposed to be very built.  It has a trans brake and everything.  The first glide came out of a camaro that was pulling the front wheels, and the second glide was supposed to be to the same specs.  The only thing reused from the first trans was the trans brake and pump.  I'm going to call the guys that built it and see if they are willing to work something out.  But i'm still considering ordering the Rossler Terminator glide for $1100.  I want to get this back on the track asap.

that is the beauty of the powerglide and old 3 speeds, there are a TON of guys around that know how to build them correctly for not crazy $$$

personally, for a transmission, i would find someone local that is reputable (i realize you thought you already did) and go that route.  it is nice to have that support close by

just my 2 cents

Just to update everyone now that I've calmed down about the situation.  The trans builders really stepped up and not only rebuilt the trans, but they upgraded a few of the parts at no cost. They are going to help me check the trans pressures before I go race again to make sure all is good. I also sold my FTI SR converter and had Greg from FTI spec out a new SST converter.  Lets just say I am stoked to be racing again!  I haven't even got to turn up the boost yet  :D

Also, Ronin Speed Works sent me some goodies!

so what are the track goals?!

Immediate goal is to beat my best time of 10.55 and the goal for this year is 10.0.  Maybe squeak a 9.99 once and hope they don't kick me out  :bacon:

I can post some links later, but just search GT45 on ebay.  I got mine from the seller DNAmotoring.

If I can finish putting it together tonight, I will be going to the track tomorrow to see what she will do.  But I still have the TII diff in there.

I made it to the track!  I didn't get to try the trans brake, but still had a good time. Density altitude was just over 6400 ft.

Nice run man!  What was wrong with the bike?

Are you running open wastegate?  I was just trying to figure out if you ran them back into your downpipe somehow.

He was just really slow off the line. I wish we would have got equal launches because the trap speeds were about the same!

The wastegates are open. No reason to reroute considering the exhaust dumps too.
