The TBI heads will match up to a standard Carb intake manifold. You could also try staying with the TBI if your not looking for massive power. It can me run by a Megasquirt system pretty easily.

^ i thought the ports are different from a tbi and carb? I dont want to deal with fuel injection plus im only getting the motor. Its going to be a track car so just the bare necessities is fine with me. And i want to fit it all under my t2 hood

Ok so this motor is an lt-base motor. From what i research if so the intake manifold that summit sells for the lt to carb is a high rise and it wont fit under the fc hood. I guess i can go with an lt1 intake manifold and make it guel injection. I hear bad things about the opti sparks. But i think there's a member here with a electric water pump and msd ignition.  He said that seem to take care of the opti spark bs?

Your probably thinking about Vortec 5.7 and 5.0 engines. They have a different angle on the intake side of the head. You can bolt on any Carb intake from '55-95 SBC

Man im starting to get confused with this motor. This is the info i got from the net. 350 cu in (5.7 L) L05 V8 185 hp (138 kW) 304 lb·ft (412 N·m). So the motor is a lo5 v8.  So is it a lt base motor or a gen 1sbc motor?

Bam* you just got smacked with the Wikipedia knowledge stick!

L05

The L05 was introduced in 1987 for use in Chevrolet/GMC trucks in both the GMT400 (introduced in April 1987 as 1988 models) and the R/V series trucks such as the K5 Blazer, Suburban, and rounded-era pickups formerly classed as the C/K until 1991 which includes chassis cabs and 4-door crew cabs. Although usage was for trucks, vans, and 9C1-optioned Caprices, the L05 was also used with the following vehicles:

1992/1993 Buick Roadmaster sedan and station wagon
1990–1992 Cadillac Brougham (optional engine)
1993 Cadillac Fleetwood
1989-1993 Chevrolet Caprice 1A2-optioned special service station wagon
1992/1993 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon (optional engine)
1993 Chevrolet Caprice LTZ
1992 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Wagon (optional engine)

L05 usage was replaced by the LT1 after 1993 in GM B-Bodies until production ceased in 1996.

In mid 1996 the L05 was equipped with Vortec heads used in the 1996 G30.

So like I said before you can bolt on any intake that fits 1955-1995 Small Block Chevy

NO you all are wrong sorry

the intake bolt patteren changed in 87 and then once again in 96 with the vortec heads and all LT motors use their own pattern unique to them only

You can spend a bit of time with a grinder and put an 87+ SBC intake on a pre-87 head and vice versa.   Done it.   :)

The '87 change was minimal. All you have to do is slot the center two intake bolt holes to make any pre '87 intake bolt onto your TBI heads.

I agree you can "make" one fit but the just don't bolt right on, gm changed the angle of the bolts to get a better clamp down to stop leaks.  I do have a late 86 factory carb aluminum intake that fits 87 and up heads.
