Sup, so I’m running a t2 diff in my 88 gxl with lq4/t56 swap. Last year when car was running i was practicing some donuts and went to try right donuts and I noticed I couldn’t get it loose and hold a donut that way( only tried like twice then drove car back into garage to hide from neighbors). Now the car hasn’t been reg yet which I’m doing in a couple months. So you gotta understand there’s not a whole lotta drive time on this car and I have a work vehicle so my cars are strictly for fun. I’ve driven the car several times but like down a small road my shop is on and the huge parking lot in back ( can’t really speed but they close on sundays, we’re not shitheads trying to injure anyone fwiw) , they were all somewhat short runs tho to make sure no cops still would bag me. Anyway doing burnouts they both spin posi, was thinking clutches in diff might be weak sooo, I was wondering if I could weld an open diff and swap it while I take the t2 diff apart but still be able to drive car. Definitely need to drive the car more and break it in, see how it responds in other locations with less cops lol I also installed a hydro setup so wondering if that would help keeping a drift with a weak diff? Any input from some of you about this? Will open diff fit the same axles?
