New guy from California - FB LS swap

Hey guys!

Finally building an ls swapped rx7 now after years of on and off research. A lot of it was done by lurking on this site.

Plans for the car:

1985 RX7 - just picked it up. It has a nice body and pretty decent paint.
L33 with LS6 intake and valve springs
S475 turbo
E85
TH400
Stock rear end to start and once it blows up (i'm sure it won't last long) it'll get an explorer 8.8

Just want a fun street car that can haul the mail when you put your foot down.

I'm doing all of the work and fabrication on the car. Still collecting parts but I'll start a build thread once I start working on it.

Looks like a really clean FB. Is it a GSL-SE? You may want to reconsider blowing up the stock rear before doing the 8.8". The stock rear end is probably worth more than a good stock Explorer 8.8"!

Agreed:  Do it once and do it right, and sell the rear to someone who's preserving a stocker.

That does look to be very clean and straight.  You don't often see FB's this nice anymore.

FYI, Ronin's LS engine mounts work well in an FB, but does assume you are doing an FC subframe swap at the same time.

Thanks for the replies guys. This one is a GS, not the GSL-SE.
I don't want to do the FC subframe swap, at least for now.

I bought granny's engine mounts, steering link modification, and trans crossmember.
I've been reading mixed reviews about this kit, anyone have any experience with it?
