I have never liked vette's.  The C8 changed ,my whole perception.  Kudos to GM for having some guts on this.  I will own one if I sell the RX7, waiting to see what they have up their sleeves for a Z version....

I priced a bare bones (which is STILL crazy good options) and the big brake package and it was like $65K.  Even I can afford that LOL.  That is super car features for less money then my F150 Raptor....  I'm in love

Hennessey Motorsports has a Twin Turbo setup on one already.  They are in the process of working out the tuning to make some big power.  Their first go round its at a modest 648hp

Honestly a bit surprised how unanimous this was...

Supra's got some work cut out for it.

I wonder if they would have called the new Supra a new Celica how it would have changed things.    I think they should have done a lot more with the car for using the Supra name.  But $60k for a Celica doesn't work either, haha.

The MKIV is just so... blah.   I don't much care for the BMW sports cars either, I like their sedans/coupes, but a Z3/Z4/etc. never did anything for me, and this Supra is just too close to those for me to care.    I mean, they're all fine cars, just, not interesting to me.   I'd rather just buy a BRZ for half the price and put 5k into making it faster and call it good at that point.

So true.  I like the size and styling of the BRZ, but I'm still not comfortable with the Subie motor.
I've heard of far too many problems with Subaru engines, and the boxer layout makes them a PITA to work on.

I heard that if you drive an M2 and a MKV Supra back to back they feel exactly the same.  I like how the BMW looks better.

I would also just buy a GT86/BRZ and make it faster, it honestly looks better to me than the Supra as well.  The LFA platform should have been the Supra, uniquely Toyota, looks great, and is a true GT car

That said the GT500 is probably the best car you can buy right now.  I'm not sure I'd actually want to drive something like the C8 every day.

I'm about as far from a ford guy as you can get, and all three levels of mustangs have me thinking...the GT 10 speed, the 350, and the 500 all have great things about them and are in a much more livable platform than the Camaro.  If the cars were a little smaller I probably would've jumped at one.  Year end deals on GT's in December were really tempting.

Goodness no.
The gt500 isn’t even in the same league as the c8 according to my track buddies that have wheeled both.
The c8 turns faster lap times with less power, they say you just can’t get past the mustangs weight.

Isn't the GT500 nearly Challenger weight? That's insane.

The GT500 doesn't really have room to grow. The BMW M(k)5 seems to be in the same boat(maybe more power?). We're still on the base C8.

I will agree on a mid engine vette doesn't seem like a daily. I'm not sure if it's the C8 or the engine layout though.

No more talk about 86's. I don't fit unless on sitting on a piece of paper rather than a seat. It was many inches off my FD for headroom.

I think the C8 is kinda like a Boxster, just larger.  Plenty of daily Boxsters, I think we will see more c8s in a year or so being daily driven

A lot of people daily drive corvettes in general.  I wouldn't be surprised to see the same with the C8 from people who can afford to do so.  I live in Indianapolis and there is a guy who drives a C7 to work all year round.

Most of the people I see daily driving really high-end stuff are people who stretched themselves so thin to buy it that they can't afford another car for daily use. LOL
