The guys on the defender forum are not too familiar with the LS swap. Some are realizing that it's really the only way to go. There are companies that slap these together and charge $150k+++. Hope I can get the seven out soon so I can tackle this sucker. The LS swap kit for this vehicle works with LS(gen3, gen4) + 6L80e(AWD). It mates right up to the factory Defender transfer case + adapter. Don't even need a new front or rear driveshaft.[attachimg=1]

Any suggestions on which LS to use on this one? Cheap is good because all the LS produce more than enough power for this truck. It just has to work with 6L80e(AWD).

Build an iron block 427 with stock ls3 heads and a small cam. It’ll be a torque monster and cheap!

What car can I get that out of?

You'd start with any 6.0 truck block and you bore it .060 over and run a 4.125" stroker kit.

LS3 heads are available from GM for cheap.

The plastic rectangle port truck intake is one of the best flowing factory intake manifolds due to the plenum size.

Out of the junkyard you can get a 6.0 for $250-750.
