Currently installed is a B&M Ratchet shifter.  Not really my style and am looking for a "regular" style shifter/selector.  For those unfamiliar with how it works, you push a lockout tab forward with one hand, and with the other pull back once on the shifter and that puts the car in reverse.  Pull back again and that's neutral, pull back again and that's drive.  Going back to park you just push forward the same way/amount of times.

I'd like a shifter/selector that works just like any automatic car.  Push a button in, pull it back to drive, and go.

Those with automatics, what shifter/selector have you used?(Either in your 7 or another car)

I have modified a stock FC shifter to run a 700r4 and a 4L60e (same thing) on a couple of cars.   You have to bend the part under the car to the other side and fabricated a bar with heim joints.

There are a couple of pictures floating around, but the walkthrough may be so old it was on the old forum.  My build thread might have something on it, but I'm not sure, it's LOOOONG.

I also modified a B&M Pro Ratchet to blend in to the interior by building a box to drop it into the tunnel and then molding the aluminum cover into a stock FC shifter surround.   That is definitely in my build thread.

Awesome thanks for the insight, I'll definitely search for your build and weed through it.

My Uncle used the stock shifter w the lower part bend over to the DS and he made a linkage up himself. His build is still in progress. '88 SE with a 408 SBC, 700r4 trans.

Hurst Quarter Stick made my old B&M feel like a toy.  Will never buy a B&M shifter again.  I know quite a few guys who run the Cheetah SCS shifter and love it, but I never liked the feel of it.
