Anyone ever installed a Magnuson Supercharger on an FC?
« on: October 18, 2015, 12:15:31 PM »
Although not very serious I have been thinking that it would be pretty cool to supercharge my L33 engine instead of doing a traditional cam swap. I have an FC with a Turbo 2 hood and Ronin mounts.

I know that hood clearance is the biggest issue as larger intake manifolds don't even fit. Has anyone successfully installed a manifold-style supercharger on an FC with an LSX engine? I thought a Corvette kit MIGHT fit with a huge hole cut in the hood or an aftermarket hood with vents.

A cam swap would be cheaper/easier/more reliable but something about a supercharged 5.3L is appealing to me. :)

If you plan on tracking the car a lot I would not do it. Other than that..sure. You may have firewall clearance issues, so beware of that.

What about an lsa blower off of a ZL1 or CTS-V? Companies now make spacers to go from cathedral port heads to the rectangular blower. Someone on hear posted a thread his lsa blower build.
