WTT 2004 CTS-V 51k miles for FD RX7 with LS swap
« on: April 21, 2015, 02:37:16 AM »
Hello everyone,

I have a 2004 CTS-V black with black raven exterior with black ebony interior. My V has to be one of the cleanest V's in the midwest! I hand wash it at least once a week and wax it every 2 weeks. I am the 3rd owner of this V. The original owner was an elder lady who purchased the car in Minnesota. The 2nd owner was a police officer who I bought the car from in Janesville Wisconsin. I bought the car right before winter, it had 42k miles and was completely STOCK! My Cadillac CTS-V is basically stock except for VERY minor modifications that really help the car drive. I had a rear differential bushing and block (more support) installed that I bought from Creative steel installed less than 3k miles ago to help with the "famous" clunk from the rear end (CTS-V's are know to have bad bushings and mounts) . I got it installed when I brought my car in for the fuel pump module recall. I decided to go with the daily driver bushing (makes a world of difference) . I also replaced my old headlights (scratched and faded beyond repair) with some extremely good condition OEM headlights I bought from a very reputable person in Milwaukee. I also replaced both ballast and lightbulbs while installing the headlights (headlights=$1000 a piece Ballast=$506 a piece and lightbulbs D1S=$91 a piece from Cadillac). I also installed a Hurst short throw shifter less than 1k miles ago. The shifter makes a HUGE difference. If you have ever driven a LS car with a stock shifter you know the throw is like a truck throw. I also installed an AUX cord where the XM radio is to keep the OEM in dash screen. Last but not least I installed a CAGS (skip shift eliminator) which has to be my favorite mod. When they made the car it sometimes only let you shift from 1st gear to 4th for the gas guzzler tax. I plan on doing a muffler delete this week if everything works out right. Just want a to hear the engine a little.

If you dont know what a CTS-V is please do some research.

The basic stuff you need to know about a 2004 CTS-V:
First year made of a CTS-V
5.7L, LS6, 400hp at 6000rpm and 395ft-lbs at 4800rpm
curb weight 3850lbs
known as the 4 door corvette

Again I have babied the car since i've owned it. I do not beat on it what so ever. Only take it to car meets. It has NEVER seen a track and never will while in my possession. I have owned a 2005 LS2 GTO with the 6.0 and this car is a HUGE upgrade. That being said this car is also huge, you can easily fit two 6 foot people in the back with plenty of leg room still. This is by far my favorite car i've ever owned and will continue to be unless the right deal comes up on an FD RX7.

I am only intrested in trading for a clean FD RX7 with any kind of LS swap as long as its not a 5.3. If you are interested in the car please email me at: alexgion67@gmail.com

More pictures upon request.

Thanks, Alex G

First - Clean V.

2nd, I assume this is a copy/paste post, as 90% of us on the forums here know what a T56 shifts like, and we pretty much all remove the CAGS from our ECU's when we build our cars. lol.

It might help if you put up and estimated value you are placing on your V, as some have gone as low as 9-10k for an OBS LS6 car, and some go for 16-17k. Most prices for clean examples are around 15-17kish. Obviously there will be some give and take there.

Also, what are you looking for in an FD? A/C, cruise, etc. The only detail you have is not a 5.3.

Just giving you some tips to help, even though I did laugh at your description simply because there are probably very few people on this forum that dont know details on CTS-V's and the LS engine platform.
 :)

Where are you located? I am assuming central WI? I am located in Madison but was taking my FD/LS out to car shows quite often, we may have met.

Thanks @Grommit just did a quick write up. I'd like to Have A/C and Cruise but it's not a absolutely necessary. I have not run into you. I also live in Madison and go to east wash almost every weekend. We should meet up sometime. I'd love to see your FD LS some time soon. It's been a dream to own one for many years. I got offered to trade for one of the cleanest FD's i've ever seen but he wanted another 20k on top. I'm trying to do almost an even trade maybe add like 3k max on top. If i had to put a price on it i'd say 18k. I know its way over KBB but if you actually look at what people are selling them for you will see that is pretty reasonable.

Thanks @Grommit lets meet up soon. I need to see your car haha

Not to clutter this thread but figured Id chime in.
I met agion the other night at our local..."spot" I guess.

Sure it was dark out, but yes, his V is just as clean as he says it is. If it was a 6.0 I admit I would be jumping all over it. Inside and outside were immaculate.

Just thought Id throw it out there since Im local to him.

@agion nice clean V man. (FYI first use of the "@"..weird lol)
