« on: July 01, 2013, 08:52:59 AM »
Hello
I am located in SoCal and I am starting my search
I would like a clean Ls swap FD
The car will be strictly for street use
I am not a HP junkie so I don't care if it doesn't make 1000hp
I am more interested in the looks
Must be a clean set up/tastefully modded, 99spec ect
Must be turn key

Please contact me if you have a car you want to sell or know of one close by.

Thank you
Z

I'll pick you up at Dulles and you can road trip it back. I'm confident my car could drivecdrivecross country without a hiccup.

Could work with you shipping it as well.

Thank you for the offer
However I do not have the time to travel or drive back
I prefer a car local to SoCal that is already registered here
I am not in a hurry and willing for the right one to come along
Cash on hand

Ah, that would have helped to know from your first post lol.
I'm starting to think I should removed some mods on my car to cope with prices that people are willing to spend

Good luck!
BTW, a C6Z starts around 40k for something decent.

yes you are right perhaps i should have listed how much i am willing to spend and that number is 25G

now i maybe wrong but nevertheless this is how i see an LS swapped Rx7 ---> they are enthusiast cars and pretty much purchased by folks that probably want the reliability of a LS engine in a very lite weight chassis...this translates to a very quick car. in a way they are kit cars. However thats where it ends...its value will never appreciate the way a stock rotary rx7 would. As such i don't want to spend over 25G on a car that i am not out to race or track.
.. and yes the z06 may end up being and extra 10 or 15G's more but chances are that i may sell it back with a small depreciation....who knows maybe even an appreciation. anyways that's my opinion and i am entitled :D to it

flame suit on >:(

I won't burn you for having your own opinion because you're right, you're entitled to it. This post will not be intended to rag on you, but to give you some information...

Some people on here bought a chassis to specfically do a swap, and some of them didn't care what mileage the chassis had, and sometimes nor the color.... this is a fact. Often times, you can get a better deal for a chassis that has been through a bit more use. When you couple that with a basic swap and/or not so high-end build parts, you can get away with a not-so-expensive car.
Again, the premise is that SOME people have gone this route, not everyone. Also, I never said anything about CHEAP.

I'm not trying to convince you to spend more or less, just hoping you might get a better understanding of how to compare different builds. One thing that might help you make a decision is that '93 interiors are different from '94/'95 interiors. I'll let you do the research so you can find out which one you'd rather have.

You can get away with spending as low as $15k on a swapped car, but the chassis may have more miles than you'd like, or it may not be the color of your choice. Something else to consider is which subframe you'd rather have, Granny's, Hinson's, or Samberg's. Every company has it's perks. This is an area that you should also research.

As far as C6Z's go, the cheapest from the Los Angeles CL was this 2007 @ $42k:

Here's a 2006 @ $42.9k:
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/ctd/4338680199.html
This one has more miles, is older and costs more

Feel free to have a look:

Hey Z,

Have you seen the red LS1 car we have for sale?  For $15k (lowered price) you get a pretty damned clean, low mileage red FD with great running stock LS1, coilovers, ready for BAR/CARB ref (all the Camaro emissions equipment).  Plenty of budget left over for future performance mods and a set of wheels that it desperately needs.  Link in my sig, will update with new pics and video tonight.

Even better, it's in SoCal and less expensive... and built by a professional shop to boot.
