Jap car, US engine, got to have some good old Brit engineering somewhere! Jag diff is a fine piece of engineering, plenty strong enough for a little lightweight like this, very cheap and plentiful over here. Only downside I can see is it's weight but hey should help rear end traction and balance up front end abit.

Good work with the alternative rear end! Nothing cheap about an 8.8 by the time it's all landed in the UK.

We shall have to round up the UK cars one day and meet at the track.

Costs a fortune and I haven't even got a mount yet.

Yes, would be a good idea to form our own little club, be a blast to get a number of our cars on a trackday together, just got to get them finished! Hopefully mine should be finished sometime 2014,just got wiring to sort(argh),radiator, finish exhaust and paint or wrap. Simples!

Thought Jag rear was the way to go, like to source as many parts over here as possible and do most fabrication myself. Diff cost £200,high quality driveshafts and cv's £700,maching work £100,subframe mods £20,+ pollybushes.

Off topic but should I have a sunroof shade that slides under my glass sunroof?
Yes, I had one on mine. Come to think of it I might still have it.

Not sure why mine isnt there though I haven't checked the roof lining. Was kind of hoping it had just been push far back.

Sorry, may have misunderstood. It's not a sliding cover it's just a clip in panel.

The FDUK.org forum is about as near as you'll get to a UK forum for our V8 conversions. They aren't so fussy about having converted cars posted about on there.

I've got a clip in panel with my Type X roof but sorry I'm keeping it with the roof. I may remove the roof eventually though :)

I thought I was really close to saying my conversion was finished and mapped but then a lambda sensor went dim on me and now I need to replace it and redo some logging runs again. Only problem is I really need access to a ramp to drop the exhaust and I've got no time off for the next few weeks!

I like the idea the idea of the jag rear end so make a kit!

Not quite, the Jag unit is based on the Dana 44 :)

Ah OK, not quite as convenient then.

I ran and dragged a Dana 44 in my procharged LS1 Corvette(575hp) without a hitch. They all use them in Cobra kitcars, so I think it will work fine.

I also find FD-UK a good source for parts and friendly forum.

Kev.

FDUK is a useful forum and certainly more open than some to engine swaps, but I still choose to tread discreetly.   :secret:
