my 95 fd ls1 swap project!
« on: April 22, 2014, 01:55:57 AM »

i am happy to finally be starting this project. the car has been just sitting in the shop for months. i picked up a 95 rx7 with a blown motor (weird i know) its pretty clean, interior, paint are all good. not perfect, but hey its a used car. its got new wheels and tires (too bad the are only 245s) i found a good deal on a running ls1/t56 pullout from a 2000 camero ss. and now it can begin. i am by no means a mechanic, engineer or master welder like many of the guys on this forum so any advice is much appreciated. i have been doing a lot of research and i got some books on building ls engines but much about this swap is still unclear to me. i have had a 1g dsm for years and feel comfortable working on it but i am not familiar with the rx7 so there is a steep learning curve. my power goals for the ls1 are 500whp, this should be easy to achieve with the right head, intake and cam setup. i am dedicating this build to my dad who is no longer with us and who i always wanted to build a car with and never got a chance. i am looking forward to sharing this with you. i am gonna try to post some pics, been having some trouble. it keeps telling me the size is too big, not sure how to fix that.

Looks like a nice chassis to start from!   Good luck with the build!

Thanks for Starting This Thread - Looking forward to seeing more of the car and your work.

If you're having trouble with the pictures you're welcome to email them to me and I can post them for you here.

Black is probably the best color for the FD.  In my opinion.
