Does anyone run the fbody pump on the Mazda rack with no reducer?

My steering feels a little squirmy on hard pulls but it's nice around town

Well. Decided to break some more parts at this weekends event.

I wasn't getting any wheel hop and had some small tires on that were just spinning like crazy with no effort. Then I heard a clank. Limped the car in to the pits nice and slow and drove some figure 8's.. No sounds.

Put the car on jacks and ran through the gears and all seemed fine. Got up to about 30-40 and kill the engine to let the tires spin "cant hear over straight pipes" and BOOM, wheels stopped and a brand new hole was formed in the back of my diff cover.

I was able to drive it up onto the trailer fine, but trying to back off the diff completely siezed up. I had to remove the axles to get it off the trailer.

Diff was a Tomei 2-way inside a S5 TII housing with S4 stub shafts.

I am hoping I didn't nuke the actual 2-way and just broke a ring or pinion "fingers crossed"  I will be dropping it this week sometime

OH NOES!!!!!!!

WTF!!!!! how do all of my bolts back out 1000-1500 miles after install. They were torqued to factory specs and loctited. I am thinking that there may have been alittle oil in some of the holes so the lock tite didn't seal properly and this last even got them hot enough that they backed out.

Good news is that my ring and pinion look good and my diff looks good. Just need some bolts and the housing welded up! Suck it Karma

did you reuse old bolts?
I don't know if the rx7 ones are, but lots of ring gear bolts are a 1 time use.

Yes I reused them. I didn't see anywhere not to so I just rolled with it. It's just strange to me that they all backed out like that in one day.

They only require 51-61 ft lb. I don't see them stretching but maybe I am wrong

I don't think they are one time use but would recommend using loctite primer before loctite after cleaning and degreasing first.
I do love what I do!
