That being said, you can put whatever hotside you want on that tc76 and on a 5.3 it won't make 950rwhp, it's not 950rwhp of coldside on a 5.3, not even close.  Sorry that's just real world facts, not on paper.

Totally agreed.  When I made my comment about large coldsides, we were still talking about 76/78 GTS's and billet 76s.
I've been talking about TC76s the whole time...

Yeah, looking back we did sorta change focus towards smaller 76s and I was still largely thinking of bigger 76/78s from the beginning of the thread, hence the 950 comment association.  My apologies.  Still not optimum in my mind, but not quite as bad as I was thinking, especially given the price as pointed out before.
No worries, I apologize for getting my panties in a bundle too lol

Sorry to bump an old thread but I just got my car off the dyno running a 5.3 and a holset HX52...

Car made 571Hp (no torque numbers yet) on 12 pounds of boost on a very conservative tune.93 octane and meth..Also after this pass a vband broke and had to pull the car off the dyno.Go to find out and it had been leaking since we hit the dyno, so were hoping once I get that sealed back up the car wont be as laggy.

Nice! That is kind of my initial power goal for my "stage 1" turbo setup...

I will say this though the power comes in very very smooth to me..I will report back with the final numbers and a dyno sheet in the next week or 2.

Cool.. I'm excited to see what you come up with.. I am still wide open on turbos, I want a nice one but don't want to spend two left nuts...
