Price Check: Aisle 7
« on: June 29, 2012, 05:12:37 PM »
So I just got a quote to install a heads/cam package on 2002 ls1 motor.  The quote includes the following parts: custom street cam, 243 heads with Manley dual spring, Ti retainer, Competition valve job, 47lb injectors(still using stock rails), and re-tune.  I was pretty blown away at the price I was given.  What do you guys think this should cost (parts and labor?)

Thanks,
Matt

Well, I put top end gasket set on my motor, cam, pushrods, valve springs, head gaskets. That was over 1k fo the parts alone. Id guess what 3-4k?

Thanks for confirming what I thought...I was also thinking around 3k tops.  The quote I was given was for 6k, which I thought was out of this world.  Anyone have any recommendations for a quality shop on the east coast that isn't trying to get rich quick?
