Damn.....what is the actual clearance from the ground to the headers?

I wonder if Joel's test FD was running a fairly large tire and not a particularly low suspension set-up.

I would like to think he wouldn't be happy with that tight of ground clearance. Then again EVERY car is going to be different given the many tire & suspension set-ups that can be ran....

Even engine mount differences come into play here 😟

That angle is a little deceiving. I had those headers on my car prior to Paul buying them. The driver side was the lowest spot but so it was with spoolin and JTRs. I don't recall there being a ton of room between the header and the trans at all but they certainly could have tucked a little closer to the block near the oil filter.

FYI, only reason I sold them was to buy another set from Ronin to fit next to the DCT. FYI the passenger side will clear a DCT as the sit. Driver side...not so much.

It is a little odd, iv'e seen photos of others that dont sit near as low. And the differences in motor mounts is only a few mm difference, not the whopping 1.5-2" those appear to hang down. and paul's car is mint, its not a worse case scenario with worn mounts and super decked heads. Curious if maybe you need to check driveline angle? if the engine is pointed down it will emphasize the header angle and make it appear low.

I’m currently looking into the problem.  The things I know are that I installed new engine mounts last year, but after I installed them the hood wouldn’t close due to interference from my Fast 102 intake.  My hood bracing is already removed in the middle area.  I decided the best course of action was to shave the new mounts 9mm(3/8”) to get the engine lower to accommodate the intake.  Now that I installed the new ronin headers, it’s an issue…. As they sit right now the lowest part of the headers is 2 1/4” from the floor, so raising the engine back up the 9mm won’t make that much of a difference.  Driveline angles are perfect currently…. Let’s see where we end up.

I’m talking with Joel currently to figure this out.  Hopefully we come up with a solution.

After a week on the road with the headers, passenger side has hit a handful of times, just normal driving. No speed bumps or crazy driveways.  I really don’t think it is a problem with the engine placement as the passenger side is about a 1/2” lower.

Also, my engine has been raised about an 1/4” from original samberg location…

Did you guys ever figure out what is going on? I noticed you sold the headers so maybe there was no solution?

I bought a set of these for my FC and have yet to install. Now I'm worried about ground clearance.

To be honest, I haven’t totally figured it out yet…. Hurt my lower back again, and it’s been on hold.  I will get back to it soon.   But for me they just aren’t going to work.   I can raise the engine 1/2-3/4” max, but that causes other issues…. Intake won’t clear(fast102) and I will have to adjust the height on the trans, and diff to line up properly… then a hood to clear the intake.

I’ll get back to you on my solutions or more info on measurements in regards to these headers.  They are beautiful, well built, I’m sure they outflow any other headers out there for our cars but IMO 1 7/8 real long tubes like these will ride low.  The question is what do you do with your car??  My car is riding lowish as I like it that way and I like going to the track (road course), so they won’t work for me and that’s why I sold them.  To each their own.

Let me know if anyone has a set of Ronin headers for sale.  I need them in the next 1.5 months.  They are unavailable on Ronin Website and I have been given no date for availablity.  Hopefully soon Roninwill get their issue sorted.

I found some used ones.  I don't need any now.

Thanks
