the lip around the holder fits behind the console bezel, i got it in by bending the bezel just a tad. to be honest i dont know how i can get it out!
nick. the cup holder tray fits into its own din pocket. behind that are 2 triangles, it kinda looks like batmans head. i cut the ear off and stuck a nylon tubing to the passenger carpet. if enough condensation makes it, itll run off onto the carpet (better than on the radio). as for the radio itself. well, it should drip onto the shifter console as its past the radio one.
anyway i had an 04 style subie cup holder in my wrx which had a single cup holder over the radio that was cheesier than this one. ive spilled it on this radio about twice from fast food style cups and it survived. keeping a bottle/can only rule i dont think ill have a prob
