TR6060 into FD
« on: April 21, 2011, 03:44:19 AM »
Hi guys, have been stalking this site for some time now, but this is my first post as we have just started converting our RX7 to LSx power over in the UK. We are looking to fit an LS3 with a TR6060 into a RHD 99spec FD. Has anyone got any information/experience on how the shifter lines up and what cradle is best to use? The box will either come from the latest Camaro or a VXR8 and will be using Samberg's mounting hardware.

I'm sure we'll have plenty more questions as things progress, but that would really help us out for now.  ;)

Thanks

Martin

I've been wondering the same thing.  They look like they are larger than the T-56. Will it fit in the transmission tunnel?  The factory shifter looks like it's located farther back than a t-56. Will a standard t-56 shifter mount in the "access panel" and line up near stock locations?

I may have just bought a LS3/TR-6060 combo, so I'll know soon enough. :)

Isn't a T6060 box dimensionally the same? Just, some of the internals are better? Something like that.

Yep. I've been eying for 3 weeks or so and finally decided to pull the trigger.  I hope I don't regret it.

I like the fact that the 6060 has a fluid pump built in so you can run a cooler. Think the only issue you'll have is the driveshaft setup.

They fit fine I have fitted a ls3 with tr6060 into a fd end of last year and it goes in ok , the prop is a pain as it's a three bolt front type , it's a nice change and better ratios than a t56 cheers Craig

How did you end up getting around the 3-bolt flange?

Hi Craig, did the standard GM shifter end up in the right place or did you have to modify it?  Also what is the best clutch master cylinder to use on a rhd car, it looks like it will have to go inside the car?

Most use the wilwood master in either a 3/4" or 7/8" diameter. Just depends on how you want it to feel. It's quite compact and should fit in the engine bay still.
