Doing my install here and seeing if anyone has a solution to a bit if a problem my build has run into. Zak had mentioned that there was a hit on the F-body pan, this has happened to me here and I suspect that it is also due to my older motor mounts. I am running the fitted shim and one shim, with just the top most shim it still touches which is a bit worrying for the two day track day coming up next week lol - always how it is it seems, right down to the wire... never learn heh. The subframe beside the old one is just next level, you guys put together a really slick unit here and while I did get the last set of 4 camber bolts, washers and nuts from Mazda in Canada - much prefer to use OEM hardware.

Picture of the hit, you can see the shims. Ronin guys am I missing something in my install here? Do let me know, and I think for future install some folks will be able to not be breaching the panic wall like we are here putting so much together in a time constraint. Can I run just the top most shim or should I space up my mounts with a few brave washers? I called around and cannot get some C6 biscuit mounts new locally with lockdown shipping being the way it is.

Mounts are biscuits and about a decade old, no signs of nasty wear but you guys let me know if your's are looking significantly higher? If I go much higher I risk my intake hitting the hood - such tight tolerances with the new intake setup. Subframe mounts/bolts installed here also, just out of view.

Lowering the trans an 1/8" would work too.

I'm pretty certain mine are even thinner than those but I'm still running a Samberg subframe. I'd bet the Ronin doesn't need as much bump steer correction as I did.

I had similar issues, but not from the ronin subframe…. Biscuits were just warn out which caused the pan to touch the steering rack.  I’m assuming your issue is all from warn out mounts.

I Bought new biscuit mounts, and I used a belt sander on the new ones  to get my clearance from pan to rack good as well as my hood to intake good.  It was a pain in the ass.  The new biscuit mounts vs crushed old ones was about 10mm difference in height.

On the Samberg it was okay, but I also was running on 3.5 camber bolts in place needed a re-alignment after every hard day on the car. If the welds are not cracking for those still running that subframe - I would say you're on borrowed time with alignment holding up. I have a new Ronin trans brace but we didn't have time to do the install as it would require seats out, possibly a new mount and a new Y pipe.

You're on the money here, they are just a bit low due to age. No terrible age cracks or worn out/wear in them but they must have sagged a bit so these will need to be replaced in time. As a temporary, and I mean temporary solution - two heavy duty washers under the mounts from the block gave 5mm of clearance to the line with also using a single shim and new steering rack bushings. To be fair, I haven't had to take my motor out, and in, and out and in... like everyone else in town running a 13B ha ha, dropped it in a decade ago without much fuss since.  :yay:

Thanks for the quick suggestions, subframe went on butter smooth. I'll try to snap some picks when at the shop next, things are looking good but also functional for some lap time fun coming up!

Well among other things you're making me glad we went with the shim the rack approach.  It also seems like the biscuits are a limiting factor when they take a set over time.  We may have to see if we can do better than these off the shelf biscuits.  In the meantime, there's nothing wrong with shimming the biscuits to whatever height you like.  Hell, if they'd already taken a set they may drop less going forward than a "fresh" set.
