2015 Yamaha FZ-07 and FZ-09

Looking at picking one of these up. Anyone have opinions on either.  Leaning a little towards the fz-07 just because its a little commuter oriented and I can't find a ad review on it.  Any opinions on either.  Its really between these two and will buy one new.

I've seen a some of reviews on them and both are a bargain, you couldn't go wrong with either.

You'd buy the fz09 over the fz07 because of the extra power and when I say extra power I mean a shit load. It has about the same power to weight ratio as a 600 Supersport, but a ton more torque.

The fz07 has it's has it's benefits too. It gets almost 60mpg,  a little lighter/smaller, and a more upright riding position. It's still no slouch on power either, about 75hp/50tq.

Both bikes are under sprung. If you are planning on doing anything more then commuting/sprinted riding, you will be looking to upgrade it.

If you're doing a lot of highway commuting, get the fz09. If you're doing a lot of in-town commuting get the fz07.

That's my 2 cents.

Me personally would buy the fz09 in a heartbeat! :)

Ive read reviews and watched videos too.  Did you come to your opinion from that or did you ride one of them?  I've been on Lots of dirt bikes owned a 05 gsxr 750 and have ridden an R1.  I don't think I will ever out grow the fz-09 suspension but I don't want to buy a bigger bike than I need nor pay the premium insurance rate for the bigger cc engine.

I haven't had the chance to ride either of them unfortunately.  I went into the local dealer wanting to test ride an fz09, but their insurance company won't let them test ride sportbikes (lame). I haven't gotten around to finding somewhere else that would.

I currently have a 06 zx6r and am looking for something more 2up friendly. The fz09 fits the ticket, but so far I haven't been successful at convincing my wife. She wants a cruiser...

You know Pete(he has a black fd and was at sns14)? I think he's got an fz09, he would be someone to talk to, but he's not on the forum much.

Him and his Dad both have them.  They say get the 09 too but have never rode an 07  They said I would like it but didn't really say much about how they liked it.   I've read some people saying neither the fz07 or the fz09 are very suited for 2 up riding.  That's something I do not want to do anyway.  My wife wants no part in it and if I ride two up my buddy will want too and I hate his wife with a passion.

Lolz!

I've read mixed things about 2up on the fz09, some people are fine, some hate it, but anything is better then a Supersport.

Sounds like going and test riding some bikes is in you future.
