Two foot itis. A real thing in the boat world.

OK... I need to be filled in on the "Two foot itis" joke

You always want a boat that is 2 feel longer. While that is true and a 25-26 foot boat would be awesome.. I have no desire to go any bigger at this point for a few reasons.

This just fits in my garage with inches to spare.
This is about the largest boat I can easily and reliably tow and launch with my 4runner.
I don't want a big block (pretty much a requirement in a performance boat larger than this) - We use the boat too much and I don't want to spend an extra 30%-40% on fuel to go 70MPH, when this 6.2L does about 60MPH.

This hull can do 75-80 or so and there are 496 and 502 big block options for it.

That's the the biggest issue with boats, 10 more mph is another 200 HP lol...a relative of mine has a fountain with 3 supercharged 525 ci motors, its cool but the cost to run it is obscene.

Whipple makes a supercharger kit for this engine for $8k. If I get bored down the line I may do that. They also offer a stage 1 engine tune for a few hundred bucks that optimizes the tune for 91 fuel. I only put in 91 anyway so I am going to do that. It's good for 20-30 hp supposedly.

Is that 6.2 Merc basically "LS" based?  What ECU does it use?

If its HP tuneable I'd put twin China GT42's on it faster than my wife could buy life vests!!  :D

No it's SBC based. 350 block stroked with a 400 crank. ECU is some Motorola based deal.
