Pulling my hair out on sbc starter wireing.
« on: May 04, 2014, 04:31:10 AM »
Okay so I am electrically retarded first off, I have spent the last several nights researching and tapping a few wires jamming myself into small places with a multimeter and a prayer and am down to just hoping someone can help Because the fsm's make no real sense to me.

I am trying to wire everything to start, my battery is in the passenger bin, I have run a wire from the battery to the main stud on the starter, to my FC alternator rear stud where the brown standoff used to be, then to my engine fuse block, from the fuse block i have a ground strap running out of the other side of the main fuse to the body.
Picture for reference. The side closest to me in the picture Has the ground other side has positive lead from alternator.

Currently my ignition switch is connected to what I believe is connector FE-05 on the black wire with white stripe I have my ignition switch taken apart I tried tapping into the red and black wire on it but had no result when I turned the key no nothing.  My current results are not any better.
Picture for refernce.

Any help would be greatly appreciated this issue a drive shaft and my radiator hoses are all that are keeping this thing from being drive able.

only need two wires to turn a sbc starter.   large wire to starter from bat and signal wire to the s terminal.  Engine ground is kinda important to.

bat --> starter --> alt --> fuseblock      ok

 no ground on fuse block

power should leave fuse block to cabin power/key power. --> keystart --> to s terminal on starter

Thanks man, I will pull that grounding strap off the block and toss it on the block and hope it fires in the morning.
