R1 Dual Oil Cooler Setup
« on: June 23, 2014, 05:58:03 PM »
Does anyone have a parts list to run the R1 Dual oil coolers with the ls1? I've been searching a lot but couldn't find anything on this subject. Thanks for your time.

Why not just run a single aftermarket cooler that's more efficient than the small dual setup?

Well I do know for a fact there have been a few running the OEM R1 dual oil cooler setup.  My suggestion would be to shop at Improved racing.  They sell a nice little oil cooler adapter that mates to the engine block with extra clearancing for headers.  You can conver the stock oil coolers to -AN fittings using the setrab M22 to -10AN fittings and after that all you need is the lines.  The OEM cooler(s?) have a built-in thermostat.

Running the dual setup also adds the issue of how the stock lines are run. It goes from the motor to the cooler back to the motor (routing only) over to the other cooler and back to the motor.

Using one stocker or a better aftermarket single is much simpler.
