quick sbc clutch fork question.
« on: October 23, 2013, 08:14:30 AM »
OK so can't find a straight answer to this but, I'm just trying to figure out if I can use a clutch fork from a t5 on a 4 speed bell. I snapped em together last night and attached the trans. Didn't seem like it fit right. I'm trying to figure out if I'm being paranoid or if I was right in not bolting it to the motor.

If it is from a F-body T5, I don't think so, they are shaped different.  I got one from Rock Auto that was made for the older bell, not that expensive.  Be warned though if you are planning on trimming it or drilling it, they are very hard steel.

NO      t5 fork has a different pivit lenght than a 4 speed fork,  just get a 4 speed one and mod to fit.  A good (hss) drill bit works just fine.

I got onto rock auto and kinda randomly picked a year, so 1974 camaro will any of these forks work? pretty sure they will but trying to minimize time i have to spend returning parts or anything so just wanting to double check. Specifically i was looking at the second down in the list.

Looks like the one I used for 1st conversion (10.5 bell),   I used the lakewood one for the second (scatershield).
