Car went back to the tuner yesterday, looks like the refreshed motor is running well.  Put down about the same numbers as last year -

The compression was a hair higher from decking the heads, other than that I'm running a k&n in the airbridge and electric cutouts on the exhaust.

Tuner said it needs 02 sensors replaced on it, so those are on order.  Other than that, just need to go through the rest of the chassis and get it aligned before it hits the track

Nice to see it making a wee bit more power!

Now get on the track and enjoy yourself. :drive:

13 years of abuse and still running STRONG!

As you may have seen from my pic / video thread, I broke some stuff on the track including my diff.

So.... I just spent some money .... the story on this thing was too cool to pass up.  Probably paid too much $$ for it  :yay:

"This came from a car that I purchased in 1988 that was a brand new dealer demo model that was wrecked on a test drive.  It had 600 miles on it.  In like-new condition.  It has been stored under a carport ever since then.  A rare opportunity to buy such a low-mileage original part."

Damn thing has 600 miles on it, and it's as old as I am!

No proof.  Though the markings on it make it appear that it hasn't been hot tanked or anything.

Wow I hope it really does only have 600 on it. Nice find. Has it been opened?

Hey are you using stiffer bushings in that diff? I'm looking for a good set of oem bushings for mine and getting rid of the delrin ones

Yeah I was planning on using the Mazda Comp bushings on it from my old diff.  If I do I'll let you know.

how is vector motorsports at tuning?
I'm considering a cam swap over the winter and would need someone to tune it for me next summer...

They did a great job for me, 90% of what they tune is the LSX platform.  They do a lot of stuff for katech as well, which is right across the street.

I would NOT recommend taking it to Livernois, I had a terrible experience with them and the dickface that handles their customers.
