WTT - 2006 mazdaspeed 6 & 1996 track prepped Miata
« on: April 08, 2013, 07:43:53 PM »
Why Hello everyone!

Offer for trade- Located in Albion, Michigan. 49224. I am willing to deliver, and help with delivery of all trade offers.

PLEASE NOTE, I AM CROSS POSTING TO MULTIPLE FORUMS, THE BEST WAY TO CONTACT ME IS VIA EMAIL. PLEASE EMAIL ME AT 4GTURN@GMAIL.COM

link to full album- http://s1203.photobucket.com/user/Gladeturner/library/?page=1

I have been a dedicated creeper here for longer than I have been legally able to drive., dating back to the v8rx7 days :lurk:

That said, I have finally come to a point in my life where i feel as i have matured enough to finally possess one of my Dream cars---a V8 fd. I would love to build one, but at this point in my life, i find that I have not enough hours in the day to even consider a build, hence the trade offer. (gotta love starting a buisness) 8)

a short summary of what I have to trade - a 2006 mazdaspeed 6 with some reliability mods, and a 1996 miata that was being built for tack use in the future. full disclosure will follow, but i figured I would keep it short simple.

I have been offered $10,200 at three different dealers on trade in, and market value for mazdaspeed 6 in my immediate area show that average asking price is $12k.

As for the miata, once the list of mods has been read, along with all of the extra items that come with it, I feel that the $8000 value is more than fair for it.

So, total trade value that I am looking for is somewhere in the $18,000-$20,000 range. I do have some extra cash if needed for the right offer. While I am not looking for a showcar type of vehicle, daily driveability is a must, as my wife will be driving it during the week. AC is preferable, but power steering is a nonfactor, in fact, the wife actually prefers non assisted steering, as do I.

What I am looking for! Ill list them in order of Importance;

1. LSx 6 speed FD

2. Modified FD

3. Stock survivor class fd

4. LSx 6 speed swapped Is300

5. MKIV Supra, 6 speed preferable.

6. LSx 6 speed swapped . . . ?

Now on to the details.

2006 mazdaspeed 6 base Black in color. I searched long and hard for this car. I wanted the base as its the lightest of all offered, no sunroof, had awd, came with a 6 speed, and at the time, fullfilled every one of my check lists. Currently my wifes daily until the weather warms up, then the miata will come out

Clear Michigan title- never been in any accidents-No Liens

111'xxx miles - will climb as we continue to drive

brand new set of ngk plugs, changed every 12k miles

upgraded high pressure fuel pump internals

SURE catless downpipe- reduced backpressure

COBB Access port 2- handheld datalogger and programmer

AEM dryflow CAI

FORGE BYPASS valve- much stronger and quicker than stock

Two sets of rims and tires- stock rims with summer tires, and 17” tires with three month old blizzaks.

Car has been washed twice a week throughout our entire ownership.

Just installed new rear shocks, and had the car aligned.

Car has been road tuned by the chief powertrain enginner for the CTS-V. He requested that I not publicly release his name due to professional obligations, but we can discuss more during private discussions.

While the car has never been strapped to a dyno, most cars with very similar mods put 320-340 whp, and 350-370wtq down. This is no where near the limits of the internals, but more than enough go juice for the daily commute. I can tell you that without a doubt, stock sti, evo, and many domestic owners have been surprised by it.

Car should be a low 13, high 12 second car that gets damn near 30 mpg, can seat 4 adults comfortably, while carrying their luggage in the trunk. Hell, My wife, business associate and I drove from Albion Michigan to Minneapolis to Boston (just shy of 3000 miles) and back in 5 days. Never have had any issue with the car, just fuel it up, do some routine maintence, and drive away!

The wife averages 26-29 mpg with it, whereas I only seem to get about 23 when I drive it…. Lol

The car does use about a quart of oil to every 1000 ish miles, depending on how you drive it. I have tracked it down to the turbo seal, exhaust side, (blowing into the downpipe) which seems to be a common problem with these cars. If we keep it, ill just upgrade to a bigger turbo, and get 400 whp, lol.

There are two areas that have developed small rust spots. Both rear wheel arches have quarter sized rust spots, (pictures forthcoming), and under the drivers taillight in the trunklid. (small bubbles contained to the trunk lid only, appears to have had a faulty seal). Even with the small rust spots, I must reiterate, We have had three separate dealers offer a minimum of $10,200 trade in (which you know they will mark up to 15) for the vehicle, without the extra floor mats or rims.

Tried to get a photo of the metallic

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1996 Miata for sale, approx 205k miles on the frame, did an engine swap at 179k, 2000 motor had 27k at time of swap (rebuilt the motor at time of swap), transmissions had 16k at time of swap.

Car came from philly, where it had been stored by an older gentleman. There is not a single spot of rust anywhere on the car. We brought the car back, after dealing with 5 previous miata from michigan, with the intent to build a nice street-able track car.

If you look though the parts installed, you will realize that no expense has been spared to make this car as capable, and reliable as possible.

Except for the alignment, I did all the work myself

Thanks!

I cant see pics either but I know what they are supposed to look like.

On the NA..
Nice setup for the most part. Just curious as to why the MSM 6 spd? May just be personal preference but I prefer the 5spd gearbox much more. Smoother, less notchy, less shifting in AutoX situations etc.
Just sorta wanna pick your brain on that part :)

Ill PM you my details.
